Here is what Rosen had to say: The Houston Rockets are the darkest horse in this category. In T-Mac and Yao, the Rockets are fueled by a matched set of potent scorers. For Houston to blast off into the stratosphere, however, Rafer Alston will have to make his perimeter shots and make impeccable decisions; Juwan Howard will have to prove that he's more than a career-long mediocrity; and Luther Head will have to hit his shots and complete his passes. Yao's lumbering defense is a problem area, but Houston can still generate sufficient stops to scare the daylights out of any of their more celebrated Western Conference rivals. Seems that Rosen is starting to give us some credit. here the link: http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6587116
I think Yao has very good defense. He changes shots on the fly but he still picks up stupid fouls. Needs to not jump towards these slashers that go to the rim like he does.
Wow... we're above the Jazz. And Rosen considers Boozer, Okur and Deron Williams to be 'medium' players compared to our 2 superstars. Bodes well for us right
True enough. It's T-Mac and Yao who have to make impeccable decisions. The ball will go through them on offense, so it only makes sense.
I am a big Rockets fan. To be honest, I don't think we can win the champs this year, sorry. But we will.
Do you get the sense that he is getting a little worried that the Rox may make some hay in the playoffs and, should they do so, he will look like an even bigger dumb a@# than he already does unless he balances out some of his comments? Smells like CYA to me!
The problem comes with Rafer's inability to improvise when he's under pressure or the Rockets can't execute a set play by JVG (mainly due to doubles or fronting on Yao and TMac). Rafer runs around and eventually into the lane and throws up a prayer, also known as a floater.
