Weekly article posted by David Thorpe, this week he had a few interesting things to say about Scola and Brooks. The link is free, so to check out what he has to say about Durant, Yi, and Horford just click it. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=thorpe_david&page=Rookies-071226
And they are getting minimal minutes, because of Adelman's world-beating starting lineup of Rafer Alston, Shane Battier, and Chuck Hayes. The league trembles in fear.
I'm definitely interested in seeing what Brooks can do in more than a couple games. Scola: I can see the talent there. I can also see him miss what seems like a lot of point blank shots. Sure, he gets the offensive rebound a lot of the time, but his ability to finish doesn't have me super confident in him. Personally, the jury is still out on him for me.
Scola just needs to stop relying on flopping like a gay manu and use straight up man D. There are times to flop when the offensive guy is out of control but Scola just tries to flop everytime. Other then that he is doing fine. I'm torn with him starting because then that means no offense spark from Hayes when he comes in. Brooks, I'll say it again, he is legit.
So Adleman decided to try out veterans James and Francis over Brooks initially.....can you blame him??
Wait a minute, when did Scola become a flopper? As I recall from watching every game he was in, the guy takes charges like a man. I mean, he gets down and dirty like any good charge taker in the league. He's a very physical player who's not afraid to take a charge when needed. So unless you're watching a completely different game than I, I'm not sure I completely follow here with this whole flopping accusation.
