Players who were on the rookie team last year but didn't make the sophomore team this year: Caron Butler Jay Williams Drew Gooden Dejuan Wagner Gordan Giricek I'm surprised there are only 4 returning players (Yao, Amare, Booz, and Nene) http://www.nba.com/allstar2003/rookie_challenge_2003_030123.html
To be honest, I dont know why Amare is on the Sophmore team. He has been injured half the season so far and the times he did played, there "eh" numbers. What a fraudass ROY. But then again, I do not know who would be on the team instead of him.
suprised no one has said who they think will win the game... ill have to go with the rookies. although i think that the sophmores will play a much more controlled game.
It is a travesty is TJ is not on that team. Can anybody imagine TJ on the break with Carmelo on one wing, Lebron on another, and Bosh trailing? There had better be some way to add him to that squad....
I think sophomores will win. Their strength is on the interior with Yao, Amare, Nene and Boozer. The strongest players for the rookies play further out for the most part. It could be argued that for a no-defense-playing game like this one, it would give the running and gunnig rookies the advantage, but I still believe in low-post power, where the sophomores definitely are superior.
For the 2nd-year guys, Mehmet Okur deserved it over Jaric, and would be there if Larry Brown had started using him more earlier in the season than the running-on-fumes Elden Campbell. TJ Ford ought to be there over Haslem.
Thats what I was thinking. I didnt know Haslem was a rookie last year. I thought he came out earlier than that.
My guess at starters: Rookie: C) Kayman PF) Bosh SF) Anthony SG) James PG) Hinrich Sophomore C) Yao PF) Stoudemire SF) Boozer SG) Ginobli PG) Jaric Sophs are seriously top heavy.
Wow, the sophomore team only has two guards! And one center! Does that mean that Yao has to log in heavy minutes for the sophomore game?
BTW, Hinrich has a better year than TJ. Kirk plays better D, and is a much better shooter from outside. His play constantly reminds me of a more athletic version of Steve Nash.
I agree that Okur should have made the sophomore team. Ronald Murray hasn't done jack since Ray Allen came back.
Yeah. TJ has been wonderful, but the Bulls are saying they are Hinrich's team. Skiles held a team meeting and asked all the pleyrs who they wanted to be their leader, and they unanimously chose Hinrich. He's gonna be a star.
