I was working at the Rookie Photo Shoot and got to talk to our boy, Steve Novak. Out of all the rookies, he talked to me the most and was really down to earth and super cool. It might have been because I was referred to as the "biggest Rockets fan" by a few people who walked by when we were talking, but others also said he was one of the most approachable rookies. I told him we're all rooting for him to do well, and talked about the Rockets and this upcoming season for a little bit. After meeting a lot of the rookies, there's ones you hope will do well and ones you hope will flop, but I think everyone who got to interact with Steve came away with a great impression.
where's the pics? thats cool you got to meet up with him and before anyways says anything, was rudy gay the same way towards you?
I'll try to post the pics tonite. Rudy Gay was also really cool (actually most of the rookies were really down to earth, but Steve took more time aside to talk Houston, Rockets, etc). Rudy was joking around the whole time and very funny.

i saw some of the show on NBATV and saw Novak walk by a few times. did he ever get interviewed on the show?
He did do a few interviews, but I'm not sure if he did one for NBATV. Unfortunately my friend dropped my camera while we were walking around in NY the day before so I had to scramble and buy another digital camera for the shoot, which wasn't nearly as good as the one that broke so my pictures weren't as great as I had hoped for.
How did you get to work at the Rookie Photo Shoot? Are you a professional photographer? Do you work for the NBA, Rockets or...? Great work if that's your stuff BTW!
He does look like Jimmy Olsen from the original "Superman" television series. Let's hope he plays like the Man of Steel.
I work for Upper Deck in basketball. I would love to work for the Rockets but my wife's business is here in San Diego, so I have to deal with the great weather.
I don't know how he does it, but Steve Novak manages to look both prepubescent and geriatric at the same time. Weird.
