I noticed everyone seemed to think Game 1 was a validation that Amare deserves to be Rookie of the Year. However, in Game 2, the Spurs seemd to have adjusted to that second move he's added to his dazzling array of low-post weapons (by my count it's at 2). 2-10 with 6 rebounds in 28 minutes, is this an indictment of Amare's claim to Rookie of the Year? Seems to me that it at least makes Game 1 and the luckiest bank of the year a moot point...
Yeah, they had 2 ex-phoenix players announcing, and they were ready to rave about him as soon as he did something good, but it never happened. instead, they were only able to say things like, "wow, did you see stoudamire contest that 3? he's really changed the attitude of this team." talk about giving compliments when they're not there! oh, the rookie played regular and expected nba defense so i'll proclaim him rookie of the year. Stoudemire couldnt even slow down duncan in the fourth with the help of 2 to 3 of his teammates.
He doesn't deserve to win the award outright. If he does, there are something wrong with today's NBA sports writers. After his "Yao falling over as his highlight of the year" in NBA Action last week, I sincerely hope he does not win the award due to my disrespect for him. btw, just 4 posts in almost 2 years?? Wow!! -G'day-
Amare lost the game for the Suns, pure and simply. He had to miss at least 5 or 6 point blank shots. Of course the greatest regular season, playoff awal, player--Shawn Marion--contributed as well.
