I was checking out the rookie page on NBA.COM and noticed

they don't have Ming's Stats on the leader board for last night.

    They show the following.

Nightly leaders for games on 12/3/02

    Points - Wagner - 25

    Rebounds - Stoudemire - 9

    Whats up with that ????????

    Am I missing somthing ?

Clearly, what happened is that Steve Francis got the NBA.com webmasters to suppress Ming's stats :D

    That sucks.

Then they turn around and put him 7th on the power ranking list. WTF!? Those other rooks aren't playing nearly as dominant and most of them are the better players on sorry teams. The Rox are playing good and Yao is playing unbelievable when he gets looks. What's going on indeed? I wonder if he'll get shafted out of rookie of the year honors?

BTW Today I mentioned that Yao had a good game last night and another guy asked me what he scored. Now this was one of those guys who always has something bad to say about guys who it's cool to doubt. I told him he had 27 and 18. It took him a second, then he turns around and asks "Yeah but who were they playing?" I told him the spurs and he just shut up and turned around. That was pretty nice. :D

It's okay though, because on the NBA.com main page they gave him credit as 3rd amongst the nightly leaders OVERALL. Screw some rookies...this man is more than that.

They obviously think of Ming as more than a rookie. I think Yao will start for the West since they opened up to voting to China.

Well if the team ever commits to give hime regular looks he could put up Shaq like numbers. If that happens I hope he makes the All-Star Game.

I've figured it out. This is a stretch, but could it be that somebody forgot to update that part of the site? Considering that the numbers they have up there are from Monday night and not Tuesday, I think it's fair to say somebody just screwed up and it's not the NBA screwing Ming.

I think the site is updated only once a week on Tuesday afternoon or something, so we won't get Yao's updated San Antonio game data until next week.
