seems ok. I'm more concerned that he's reminding of mcgrady out there with the fadeaway 3's as time expires. Ron probably shouldn't be taking so many shots 1 ft inside the 3 pt line.
ankles never completely heal cause the tendons are fairly avascular. so when you sprain your ankles, it takes a while for it to heal and the scar tissue that develops afterwards are not as strong as when you were healthy. I think it's something like each time you sprain your ankle significantly, it recovers to be around 80% as the previous time. so if you do it like 5 times in a season, that's .8^5 as strong as it was previously. so he probably won't be completely healthy but should be fine to play if he doesn't tweak it again... but it's easier to tweak it when you've previously hurt it.
I just wish everyone healthy. No need to keep playing on a broken ankle when there is less than 2 month to go till the real war begins.
The all star break seemed to help a lot. He's only had 2 games on it since then. I think we'll get a bit better gauge the next week or two.
hope he can rest it a bit... he did play alot of minutes tonight too... others are gonna need to step up... especially when the playoffs come...
I thought you guys knew already? Artest's ankle has miraculous healed after T-mac announced his season ending surgery.
Artest hit at least 50% of his field goals in 6 of the previous 7 games. He was only 6 for 16 in this game, but I thought he played pretty well overall. Defensively, even though Josh Howard played well, I thought this was one of his best games. His offense has steadily improved as the season progressed. I'm optimistic he'll be big for us down the stretch.
Really, you thought his defense was good ? He was gambling less yes but was double-teaming many times when he should've stayed with Howard because he was hot.
So, you're saying that once you get a signficant ankle sprain it never fully recovers, even if you don't do anything to further aggravate the initial injury? And if a player sprains the same ankle twice, that ankle will never be more than about 65% as strong as it was originally for the rest of his career/life?
This is a very good topic, it will be intresting to see how him and shane handle the extra work load with T-mac out. I bet they feel good now (with the time off) but i bet both of those players will be nagged by those injuries. Keep in mind Bullard has mentioned several time (before the break) that artest was out there playing when his ankle looked like a oversized grapefruit
Tell me about it. I sprained my ankle hard a year ago and I still feel discomfort when I'm running or playing basketball.
I think the Allstar break was good for it but I think he needs another two weeks off of it. He had it heavily taped last night. Once you see that he can drive to the basket with some ease then you will know it is better, but for now he has to methodically work his way in there to get close. That is why he has been taking more of those 15 ft fall away shots than working his way in.
