FYI, Rondo's man was Harden. Terry was Ellis' man. Total miscommunication. But Rondo did play horrible tonight. It looked like he was sort of in the game the first couple of minutes . He was trying to make plays out there but as the half wore on, obviously something happened that made him lose interest. The 2nd half, he was totally disinterested. Probably Rick talked with him (or continued to glare at him, idk).
LMAO this is why you dont get a team cancer, for every Josh smiths who become good players you have 10 Rondos who destroy the locker room. The diff is Josh Smith was free, Rondo cost Dallas a good player who was hitting 70% of his shots and a future pick.
I think something happened between Rondo and Carlisle in the locker room at the half. There's no other explanation for how he opened the 2nd half. He was begging to get benched. He basically gifted Harden 8 free throws from dumb fouls and the tech. He was so obviously fouling Harden that the ref had to call the fouls.
I'll never understand why Cuban just throws together a bunch of vets with recognizable names and hopes the chemistry works itself out...they traded away core pieces of their championship roster after the year they won and this season they had some chemistry brewing with Wright and co. yet blew it all up just to experiment with another "name" in Rondo. Pathetic.
How come nobody is talking about how Dirk has just absolutely quit playing defense? He never was much of a defender, but he's not even trying anymore. There is a reason the Rockets tied a record for most dunks in a playoff game tonight.
And Rondo will leave, Dirk will retire, and they will be forced to build the team around Chandler Parsons. Lol.
IIRC, weren't the Rockets trying to trade for him, according to CYBERX? I heard very little about the legitimacy about that from my guys, but I'm glad he's not here. He NEEDED Paul, KG and Ray to be the triple double machine he used to be. He's not the same player because he doesn't have the drive or the Boston Celtic green on his uniform. His talent is crazy good, but this is the Rondo that is left, in my opinion. He's not a franchise player or a scary PG threat. He has flashes, but so did Matt Maloney and Bryce Drew.
Supposedly Morey wasn't really that interested and he just threw his hat in to drive up the price for the Mavs. As we know Mavs ended up giving up Wright, Crowder, Nelson, a conditional 2016 1st rounder and a 2016 2nd rounder, which in hindsight was a hefty price.
Who else were they going to put on him? No Parsons and Rondo is a better defender than Ellis, Barrea and Felton. Rondo actually played Lebron pretty tough back in the East battles. That being said you're right... He still had no chance.
