Come back to H-town Ron! http://espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=Artest-110202
i could see this happening, he doesnt like the pyschological stuff phil does and just sitting in the corner and not really involved in the offsense makes it really tough for him. I wouldnt be opposed to bringing him back. But we dont have the room. Plus it would probably take Shane to LA. I dont think I'd want shane a laker ever! (selfish reasons of course).
With that contract, he has no trade value whatsoever. I can't imagine anyone giving up much of anything for him. He is way past his prime.
Despite his Game 7 heroic, I still think the Lakers made a mistake signing him. He is not the defensive Juggernaut he once was, and his offense has never been very efficient. And his ego has no room in the already ego-crowded Lakers locker room.
Turiaf/Mason-for-Artest. Lakers agree to buyout Turiaf so he can resign with NY after the mandatory waiting period. Edit: Clearly, only if pursuing Melo doesn't work out
Artest has declined seriously in the past two season. He wouldnt have any use coming back to Houston thought at this point in his career. With the amount of time he has left on his contract and with Matt Barnes being out for a few more weeks, I dont see Artest getting moved before the deadline. The Lakers need him more than you would think.
Artest, Bynum & Walton for R.Lewis & Hinrich seems like a logical move the Lakers and Wizard might talk about. Maybe the Rockets could chip in and move Brad Miller for whatever (TPE/late 1st/early 2nd/marginal prospect[Ebanks/Character]) to the Lakers to backup Gasol. Maybe even package Miller with whatever and try to steal McGee .
wouldnt it be cool if he was traded to the celtics and burn them in the finals??? how cool would that be? lol
I had a feeling he would be the guy. Trading Ron Ron would give them new life so I hope the Lakers are stuck with him the remainder of the season.
