Artest suspended one game for hitting Ginobili
    Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Ron Artest of the Sacramento Kings was suspended one game without pay for hitting Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs in the head with his forearm.

The suspension was announced Monday by the league. Artest will miss Game 2 of the Western Conference series on Tuesday.

The contact occurred in the third period of the Spurs' 122-88 win Saturday night against the visiting Kings.

Ron Artest misbehaving? Is the honeymoon over?

Is it cold in Nome Alaska? Did the sun come up today?

That looks awfully familiar to this Pacer fan.

It was blatant and intentional. He looks at him, knows what he's gonna do, puts up his elbow, then looks away before initializing contact.

    typical mo-Ron

Beating down on Ginobli should be celebrated, not punished.

If this was not Artest there would be no suspension.

Its kind of flop-funny that Ginobili gets bumped by the elbow, pauses and then flies down.

    Damn Euro floppers!!

It looks clearly pre-meditated and Artest probably deserves the suspension. But the only thing that I can think of is that Ginobli's floppery acting drives me up the wall.

But what about 2 years ago in the playoffs when Anthony Peeler gave an intentional forearm/elbow to the face of KG? He got suspended for 2 games.

Man, Kings got off lucky on this one...

Maybe Manu wanted to get under Ron's skin with the opening shot and his flops, and get him tossed.

I doubt he's that smart, but if so, it worked like a charm.

Agreed. Artest's act was clearly intentional and should be punished. But the hit wasn't as hard as Ginobili made it to be.
