I wonder if SAC just made some preliminary contact with SA and decided to leak this info in order to drive up interest in Artest by (2)making other teams worry about how good the Spurs will be with Ron and (2) making other teams think "Well, if the Spurs are considering it, Ron must not be THAT crazy."

I was listening to Colin Cowherd (ESPN radio) in my car. He kept mentioning that a Caron Butler for Lamar Odom trade was in the works. As soon as I get to a computer I check out the NBA Dish here and to my surprise no one picked up on it. Before starting a thread I decided to dig around for an online article and of course nothing comes up except for message board rumors. Then I remember Cowherd is a moron and gets half of his bits from blogs. Everyone is throwing up speculation as news after all these big trades.
