do you all know of any good restaurants in houston to go to for a romantic date that will cost between $10-$25 a plate and you wont need reservations?
Said it before. Rainbow Lodge. But that's going to be in the upper echelon of your price range. I also like Tio Pepe as romantic. Call for their Flamenco dancing. Best Paella in town. Around $10 a plate there. Tokyohana is also a good place. Not in romance, but women tend to love it.
You might go for Ruggles cafe bakery in the village. You get to bring your own wine, so you can bring champagne, or Spanish cava, like Paul Cheneau, in your own cooler. Or just a bottle of whatever. It's counter service, with salads with chicken and pasta and wrap sandwiches. The pork loin sandwich is really good. The goat cheese salad is very good. You can get a really nice salad each and split a dessert. The desserts are really, really good. Splitting it makes your girl feel good - all the better.
Las Alamedas on I-10 near Silber is very romantic, dark interior with a nice bayou view. Prices are $10-$25 a plate, the food is very tasty. Go in the evening.
Well Fatty reccomended Rainbow Lodge, and I just went there for the first time a few weeks ago for my anniversary. I think the place is overrated personally. The food was good, but not unbelivable and for the price you'd think it would be. They sat us in the 'wine room' which is secluded and actually sits in the wine cellar, but we didn't think it was all that romantic. We both said we would have much rather been at Ruth's Chris....not only is it a bit cheaper, but it's a much better atmosphere in my opinion.....and of course the food is MUCH better.
save some money and go for mcdonalds. oh, btw, does pollo campero still exist in the US? and how's it doin if it does.
There's a pollo campero on Bellaire just past the triangle. Looks to be doing very well! Not so much a date place, though, unless you have plans for the playland. Could be an interesting date.
I'm surprised you didn't like it. The wine room is neat, IMO. About as secluded as you can get in a restaurant. Did you check out the other dining areas in the restaurant? As far as food, I always get the sampler platter. It always kicks ass.
yes, very romantic, make a reservation and asked to be seated in the main dining room near the tree... don't get stuck on the plastic wrapped patio during these cold days...sit in the restaurant or don't eat there (during winter months)... there's also Fabio's down the street, small, but supposedly very good and there's Sorrento, very romantic looking... and of course, there's also La Mora on Lovett...
i like Post Oak Grill and Mazraff's. but honestly...my wife and i have a mutual love affair with seafood gumbo...so a night at Pappadeuax is quite romantic for us.
I don't find this place romantic, but when I want seafood, it's Goode Company Seafood on Westpark or nothing.
If you like Seafood Gumbo, you HAVE to go to Treebeards in downtown for lunch on Thursdays. Best seafood gumbo I've ever had.
really? i can't do goode company seafood...if i'm eating seafood it has to have a cajun tint to it...i don't find that there.
it may just be us. we've been to new orleans many, many times..eaten at tons of cajun places...we both think pappadeaux's has the best gumbo either of us has ever had.
That's true... it's more like Texas seafood... mesquite grilled and all that stuff. It's not cajun, you're right, but I love it.
