i dont know which thread this should be in but.. i just read an article with Marbury having to deal with an ankle issue.. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/fanball/20021011/fanball-sunsmarburywillsurge.html if marbury decides to take the surgery, would ya'll think the Rockets will go deeper into the playoffs? if i could remember...too lazy to look up Clippers- odom is out. Q is injured , keyon? Brand lewis out pippen injured (not that big of a change for portland) i think this gives the rockets a better chance to make the 6th seed in the west. i dont think phoenix can compete with us if marbury decides to take the surgery and penny is injury prone just like Camby going out for the season in denver.. but what do yall think?
I think we were already ahead of them. But it could make our series wins higher moving us up. I think we were already ahead of them. But it could make our series wins higher moving us up. Could effect us, I still think we could be better than Portland right away.
I think we are better than these teams regardless of injuries. I would not want our accomplishments tarnished by thinking it was because of some other team's injuries. The Clippers will always find a way to lose. They're the Clippers. They are imploding before the season begins.
I dont think anyone sees LA, Port or Phoenix as a real threat this year anyway, although they will all be playoff contenders just like us. It will be interesting to see if can indeed be better than them.
Relax. The season hasn't even started yet. Most of the injured guys will be back by crunch time. Teams that have lost players for the year have time to get replacement troops. We have a team that can win regardless of whom we are playing, Lakers and Kings included.
well i was just wondering because this is a brand new team with all the puzzles in place, but just with a new offense and different chemistry. I just wonder when and how long the rockets will get used to their teammates and the sets.but only time will tell
Two teams are definitely out of the picture: Seattle and the Clippers. LA might end up with 8th, but that's the best they can do. As I remember accurately: Olowokandi out Elton Brand out Melvin Ely out Chris Wilcox out Lamar Odom out Quentin Richardson out Keyon Dooling out I think they have too much to overcome, even if they are all healthy two weeks into the season. To just bring back all the 7 of the core players back at the same time is too tough to pul off. Oh, then there's about 3 of them who are in their contract years, and are unhappy not to be extended. The Clippers managed to ruin what could've potentially been a contender. As for Seattle, Lewis is out for a while, and there were already doubts. On top of that, Payton is unhappy, and they have ZERO post presence. I mean ZERO. Suns will be alright, probably good for 10th or 9th, with incredible potential for improvement (joe johnson and Amare stoudamire). Jazz will make it, but they will struggle. Blazers are locks to make it, and I think they will surprise everyone. I think we make it easily, and will fight for 5th. Let's hope we play Dallas, because we can play with that team, no problem.
"All-Star forward Elton Brand (knee), first-round draft picks Chris Wilcox (leg) and Melvin Ely (toe), Lamar Odom (ankle), Quentin Richardson (knee), Keyon Dooling (ankle) and Michael Olowokandi (knee) sat out for Los Angeles."
Brand is set to return no later than one or two weeks into the season. Marbury decided not to have ankle surgery this year. He will play through the injury just as he did last year.
To address the Pippen injury, it's not a very severe one, he just has a swollen right knee and will probably miss the preseason. But he should be good to go by the start of the season. SANE I totally agree with you, the Blazers are going to suprise alot of people with their play this year. I see them getting home court advantage in the playoffs.
