Derek Fisher:Can shoot lights out, isn't afraid to take big shots, great flopper Brook Lopez: unheralded rookie who has established himself as a top 5 rookie David Lee: All heart and hustle, tenacious rebounder and quite ambidextrous Roger Mason: cold blooded three point shooter. Jason Maxiell : Tough, hard-nosed competitor, boundless energy Ronny Turiaf: All Heart, incredible shot-blocker, great teammate Leandro Barbosa: arguably the fastest player in the NBA, makes things happen on the court.
Out of your list, I like Lee, Maxiell, Turiaf and Barbosa. I appreciate Fisher's game but I don't particularly like watching him play. Other role players I like watching: Nocioni (intensity), Biedrins (hustle, athleticism), Troy Murphy (I like bigs that can drain 3s), litte Nate, Diaw (well-rounded game), Posey, Ronnie Brewer, Camby, Salmons... If we're talking Rockets, I like watching pretty much all our role players. Maybe that's just being a homer but I can't think of any I don't like watching. Even a guy like Hayes is fun to watch. It's awesome to see him shut down bigger players, tear the ball out of players' hands, chase down long rebounds...
Damn it, I meant to Say Role players not from the Rockets. I love Scola,Battier,Landry,Brooks, all of them Role players on other teams. There are some notables "good" role players I left off because I don't like them Posey Bruce Bowen anyone from the Celtics
I agree with Biedrins, Nate and Diaw (altho he can be frustrating) Have to question Ronnie Brewer, he's plays for the friggin JAZZ
he's close to becoming a star if he can really start knocking down the 20ft jumpshot consistently He is quite athletic and he finishes well.
Yea, I know. I was thinking about adding this: (even though he's a j*zz)... but I forgot as I was typing. I just like his style of play. He keeps his mouth shut, puts his head down and plays hard at both ends of the court. And of course there's his athleticism. I think he's the epitome of a good role player and should be an excellent one for years to come. I'd be thrilled to take him off their hands and wipe all Jazz memories out of his brain.
I think just about every coach/GM in the league would j*zz their pants to have David Lee on their team in some role or another. Well, maybe not Don Nelson...
