I have a 25 gift card from amazon and wanted to use it for a new toy. I like the roku because I believe NBA, NHL pass are available to stream from the device? NFL and MLB in the future?? Also if you buy movies or tv shows on amazon how do you play them on the roku since it doesn't have a hard drive? I already have a ps3 and I enjoy vudu, hulu plus and Netflix. Apple tv let's you stream your content from your itunes library to your television and it has airplay. As well as YouTube and Netflix included. I usually save the digital copies of my movies on to iTunes so Ionia it be easier on iTunes. I've heard the setupon a roku has been a pain. Oh and any word on espn 3 coming to ps3 soon? And why is there no espnhouston.com yet?
NHL and MLB games are on Roku. NBA League Pass is not, but there is an NBA Game Time channel with highlights and scores.
Only thing prevents me from getting a Roku: lack of Divx support. I have loads of videos, my entire DVD collection, saved to an external HD in Divx format, and I'm not about to go converting them all.
Or you by the Apple Mini, install windows on it and use it a computer hub for your TV so you can get any show, streaming link, or downloaded video.
Boxee Box, plays everything... Just needs netflix but i spend time using torrentz and watching movies on file than I do on netflix which don't have a lot of new movies that I want to see....
If there's a way to get the sports he wants on Boxee, please enlighten us (no sarcasm intended). In fact, I've been out of the Boxee scene for over a year- what's new? (Boxee on a mac mini here)
Boxee Browser supports NBA LP from what I have heard, I use LP on the same PC, but use firefox for NBA LP (due to the setting up of proxies etc).
Sure don't you know anything with an "i" in front of the name is bad. Get with the times. Who cares if the free software let's you easily store, organize, purchase, rip and wireless ly stream your music and videos to other enabled devices on your network, which you can easily control from your phone with another free remote app.
For $99? If not, then it's comparing apples to oranges. The Roku and AppleTV are much less expensive.
