Hey guys, I was just thinking of Robert Horry and his sick child in Houston and I think it would be best for him to be her father and spend more time with her. This trade provides the Rockets with a veteran 3/4 capable of hitting big shots, and gives the lakers two more big guys for the big, bad west. Maybe all players would benefit with a change of scenery. What do you guys think of this?

Did he leave on good terms? I mean he (along with some other young talent) were traded for Barkley.
I would love to have Horry back, he would be a great backup.

Anything that gets rid of Cato is A-OK. Of course, you'd have to stomach 82 games of half-ass paly before the playoffs, when Horry actually plays like he deserves the money.

Since when did Cato and Los become power?

Those dudes get injured just when someone looks at them funny.

    Power...haha

    newsflash:

HORRY SUCKS!! HORRY SUCKS!! HORRY SUCKS!!

and Horry did leave on bad terms. Horry will never live up to the hype of being the next Pippen, and he wont even live up to his play of his years in Houston because he is often injured, dogs it on the court, and adds nothing new to his game. Hmm, I think that sounds familiar.

    The OlajuWons:

Obviously you didn't spend the years '93-'96 in Houston. There is absolutely no way we make those 2 playoff runs without Robert Horry. The man was huge in the playoffs and hit clutch shots repeatedly. Add in his good help defense and 3 rings and I think he'd be a great addition at the 3/4.

Or would you rather a Langhi/Williams combo there?

Im not a big Robert Horry backer, but Cato for Horry could make some sense depending on what other offers the Rockets can get for Cato. Ideally, the Rockets could get a short contract in exchange for Cato and wipe his salary off the cap but that isnt happening. Thus, the second option is to take on a player like Horry that has a moderately long contract but shorter than Cato's.

Kelvin Cato's contract goes through 2006, and he earned 5.3 mil this past season. Horry's goes through 2004, and he earned 4.8 mil. In the ideal scenario, you'd delete your mistake, but if that cannot happen, a scenario like this one eases it somewhat. Also, as a tall forward that can spot up and shoot, Horry could fit in with this team.

The only thing Im not sure about is Cato's BYC. I have heard that once the Rockets fall under the cap, Cato's BYC wont matter but not totally sure.

  14. um yeah I spent time in Houston in 93-94/-94-95 suuuuuure did, and I will agree that EVERYONE played a part, but Olajuwon was the SHip everyone jumped onto.

I dont think Los and Cato are power, but somebody up there in the first couple posts suggested we sent them to LA, we would get a guy who hits the big shots, they get a more power?????/

I was just thinking, "YEah that is what LA really needs is more power", we sure as hell wont get anything but an occasional 3 pointer like Bullard or Langhi could give us, and some highlight dunks when he is all alone, like Steve and Mobley do already, lets not ruin this offseason by making stupid mistakes in our FA signings and Draft picks, lets use our heads and go after what we need, which is power.
