Jim Rome is interviewing Jack Haley (Dennis's best friend and ex-teammate) and MJ has talked to Rodman twice about playing next year. Dennis is working out (supposedly) twice a day and preparing to return with MJ & CB4 next year. Haley also said he hopes MJ sits back and thinks before he makes a comeback, and in his opinion should stay retired. Wow that will be a traveling circus with both CB4 & Rodman on the same team. Reporters will love talking to these guys!
I hate jack haley. Who does he think he is ? I dont know why anyone listens to him, he was a sorry basketball player. All he did was cheer on the bench and act like he was part of the team. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
I guess, if we lose Dream, I'd rather see him go to Washington. It would be fun to see what a senior "Dream Team" could do against the young pups. If they stay healthy, I'll put my money on the ol' timers. However, I think they'll need to play together for a year, before they really mesh. ------------------
Damn, Oakley is now reportedly being courted by Jordan too. Oakley, Sir Charles and the Worm on the same team? Not only is that an opposing power forwards worst nightmare, but its also the media's dream come true. One thing about having Oakley, Rodman, and Jordan on one team : that team won't take crap from anybody and will talk trash in one ear and blow your brain out the other doing it. Wow... the all trash-talking team. All they need now is Gary and entire teams will be getting ejected by the end of the 1st half. ------------------ "Light travels faster than sound, so some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak." -- Brian Williams (now Bison Dele) commenting on Isiah Thomas. Yeah, and I also heard MJ's spoken with Larry Bird about coming out of retirement. And Bill Walton's leaving his cushy NBC job. He'll be working out twice a day with his son & the rest of the Arizona team to see if he can get back in game shape. Calvin Murphy has contacted MJ about joining the Wizards, but he hasn't been called back yet. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club

There's no way Oakley would play on the same team as Barkley. I remember during the playoffs Oakley refused to do a postgame interview with the crew at TNT just because Barkley was there. We all know how Oakley holds grudges, who knows what the hell he'd try to do to Barkley if they were on the same team. ------------------ Band Geek Mobster [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited June 11, 2001).]
BGM, That's what I was thinking. Aren't they mortal enemies? Wasn't it Oakley that did a body slam on Barkley, directly on his back, when he played for the Knicks? ------------------
Gotta agree with that. I also heard he did a little more than that though.....something along the lines of being rodman's biaaatch. ------------------
Wiz reported after Oakley Jun. 11, 2001. 01:30 AM Chris Young COLUMNIST PHILADELPHIA - Add Charles Oakley to the names on Michael Jordan's wish list with the Washington Wizards. An NBA source last night confirmed Jordan's interest in the Raptors veteran, saying the Wizards' basketball chief and part-owner has already ``sent out feelers'' to Oakley. Jordan and Oakley were teammates with the Bulls from 1985 to '88. Speculation has the Raptors and Wizards talking about a possible deal with names like frontcourt player Jahidi White coming the other way, although a straight Oakley-for-White swap would not work under the salary cap. NBC analyst Peter Vecsey floated Oakley's name among a raft of predictable suspects last night as Jordan, perhaps preparing for a comeback as a player, appears willing to deal the No. 1 over-all pick the Wizards own in the June 27 draft and would like to acquire a veteran forward. Maybe it's true. Maybe, instead of fight night at the Hockey games, they'll start a new tradition of fight night at the NBA games. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Hottoddie (edited June 12, 2001).]

Rodman, Jordan, Barkley, Oakley all on the same team? I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. Why not throw in John Starks and Patty Ewing just to call it even.... Nothing that happens in the NBA surprises me any more. ------------------ http://titansmania.50megs.com far better to ask a question and be a fool for 15 minutes, than to never ask a question and be a fool for the rest of your life." Does anyone know what Washington's roster next year (those under contract) and a definiter salary cap looks like. I know I've heard they are up to 10 mil under the cap. But how many guys are under contract? Seems like if MJ comes back thab CB4 will definetely be there, and Ron Harper has already said he will be playing with MJ next year if he comes back. Then we have Rodman and Oakley and possibly Ewing or Dream. Sounds like if they are planning on adding 6 or so new faces that they may have to do sign and trades just to clear salary spots and cap space. Problem is they can't do sign and trades for MJ, CB4, or Rodman. As for cap space I think most of the guys being mentioned would play for the minimum tp play with MJ and the other characters. Plus a cast of stars would have a ton a commercial opportunities to make extra dough.
