My wife got some free tickets to the Rodeo for next week. We are both off so we are going, but I have never been to Reliant before. Where is the best place to go in and to park? I'm not from Houston but know enough about the area to know the streets around there, just not sure where to go to have the easiest access.

I wouldn't park at Reliant, IMO the light rail is the way to go but either way prepare to wait a bit if you're going to a show. If it's just the carnival then it won't be as bad but take the light rail again IMO.

I heard it was $10 per person to park at Delmar. Is that true?

Rodeo website says $10 per person from Delmar. Still will probably do that just because it is easier.

Park off Fannin or something. These guys want you to go straight up with the nasty, you gotta take it from behind and walk. The walk takes 8min, waiting for any kind of direct transport is deadly.

. . . well making it all things Rodeo

What exactly is the judging Criteria for Bronco Riding and Bull Riding?
I always thought it was just STAY ON for 8 Seconds
    but . . .
I think it is more to it.

Posture, feet position, style go into it. The score is half from the rider and half from the bull itself.

How hard it is to ride, how much you spur. The bull and the rider get a score.

Air and hang time are bad things when you're talking about bull riding.

air and hang time are much preferable to Mr. Stompy. Getting stepped on is much worse.

That’s bad too, but I’m not sure that getting tossed 20 ft. in the air is much better.

it is when you consider the PSI of a 2000 pound animal trying to stomp you out and jumping up in the air a few feet before it does it. Then consider it is using a hoof to do it that is smaller than your foot and made of basically bone.

Now consider it just landed on you throat, chest or head. (or your balls)

Getting tossed is nothing. The dirt is tilled and soft.
