OK, let me say this first: You're going to hate me because this tells you nothing. This is pretty bad... I know.

Got an email from a rock solid source who overheard Rudy T at the Steve Francis press conference today talking about getting a certain player to Houston .... "how they needed to get the ball rolling and get on this". Apparently Rudy was very excited about trying to get this guy to Houston.

The source, who probably is my best one, said Rockets are "working on something as we speak" ... now at first I thought he was intentionally hiding who that player was to protect the situation but he really doesn't know who Rudy was referring to.

Anyhow, I combine this with a scoop I got a week ago and got more interesting yesterday and I might know who the player is (not overly exciting but a pretty good young player) ... however I've been sworn to secrecy on it until a certain time and I have to go by that.

Anyhow, I've been sick all day so this is the best I got [IMG]

    Clutch...
Great news. I can't wait until something happens. One question- can you tell us whether this guy is on a lottery team or a playoff team? I'd just like to know if possible cause it could lower the field.

Also, to anyone else, try and take a guess who it might be. I know a few of you have "sources", and if you have heard anything or want to speculate, please do so. I know I want to have a hint and I'm sure everyone else would just like to hear some possibilities. So, take a guess if you want- I'd like to hear a few of these.

STROMILE SWIFT!!!!!!!! wait...not very exciting....Big Fundamentals (doubt it)....perhaps Tim Thomas or someone of the like.

Clutch, can you tell us if it's someone we've mentioned on the board before?

Tim Thomas? God I hope so. I think this guy can be an All-star every season for years. I love this guy's game. He can play multiple positions, and he has the size, speed, athletism, shooting, etc. to perfectly fit in with the Rockets. I know a lot of people here would disagree, but I would rather have Thomas than Rashard Lewis. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Thomas has extreme potential.

Yeah, I was thinking of Rashard, but Clutch said not very exciting....I assume that meant the way Stockton is compared to Francis, he just goes about his business, not worrying about the behind the back pass, or the dunk.

Who was Rudy saying this to? That would impact things a lot. If it was a Rockets Official, or Francis himself, or just a friend, it could mean some different things. I hope it's a low post presence.

Please let it be Tree Rollins or Craig Ehlo or worst case scenario Rolando Blackman.

Knowing the Clutchster, he isn't gonna give in no matter what, but the guessing game will have to do until we find out more. [IMG]

For no exact reason or evidence, I have a feeling the Rocks will either push to get or actually get Bo Outlaw. He would be a good fit with this team. He's athletic enough to play the 3, strong enough to play the 4. He played college basketball here. Orlando has enough big-name free agents to sign and impact picks to draft to lose this solid commodity in the shuffle. Like Brian Grant, he isn't terribly gifted on the offensive end, but he is a prototypical team player that moves well without the ball and brings the intangibles to the game. Plus, he is a stud defender, and would thrive under Rudy T.

For me, a great off-season would be too trade up and acquire a top 3-4 pick to draft a Fizer or Swift, and then use the exception to sign a role player like Outlaw. Plus, he wouldn't be as expensive as a Grant or Lewis.

okay, Ive been teased long enuff.

pretty good YOUNG player. Not OVERLY exciting.

these players for me fall into that category:

    Doleac
    Antoine Walker
    Danny Fortson
    Theo Ratliff
    Raef La Frenz(sp?)
    Jerome Williams
Alan Henderson(I think he is pretty young?)
    Austin Croshere
    Samaki Walker
Isiah Rider(just kidding : Haha that was funny)

that is all for now. Hopefully the Rockets do not lose a 7 foot person, unless another 7 foot person comes in exchange. The more 7 footer a team has, the better.

All -- believe me I don't take enjoyment in not telling you... if one thing I try to do is make as much info as I know available on the site. This is something though that is important to keep quiet.

All I know is there is interest on both sides... doesn't mean something is going to happen for sure.

Think about "The Cat"'s first question in his first post in this thread though -- the answer to that is why do you think I can't say anything?

Clutch-Can you answer this? By exciting, did you mean as in flashy, or as in his talent isn't that of a superstar's?

I'll add Olowakandi into the list of names.

Sounds like Clutch is sworn to silence as long as the guy is still in the playoffs.

I'm gonna take a long shot here and go with Randy Livingston.

So now we have to wait for each playoff series to end and see if Clutch reveals any names
Please let it be Oliver Miller
The truth is out there, it's just clutch won't tell us.
