NBA Draft 2004, June 24, New York Rockets will have a second round #55 from Kings, and send 21 to UTAH, 50 to Dallas. 55. Sacramento (to Houston via Utah) ============================ 21. Houston (to Utah) 50. Houston (to Dallas via Denver) ============================ http://www.nba.com/news/tiebreaker_040415.html
Seriously, after sending Utah our 1st round pick, we better do SOMETHING with our trade exception. And that something better make half this board go: Splash And not splash in the sarcastic way either.
'tis what happens when you deal all your draft picks for failures (griffin, rice, pippen , etc etc) hopefully we'll get a 1st rounder one day lol although 2nd round isn't all bad, mobley hasn't been a terrible waste of a 2nd round pick.
Wow, you're crazy!! Cat was a great pick, name someone that plays better than him that got picked around his number.
problem is that it may be hard to find really good talent that low. As shown with like josh howard and luke walton you can find nba ready college role players in the very early second round, very late first round because many of the lottery picks and top picks are like high schoolers, underclassmen and foriegn players. But someone that can have an impact that late in the 2nd round would be rare, i wouldnt hope that we'll find anyone that late but then again who knows? Marquis Daniels was undrafted maybe there will be someone who trickles down
Well, to name a few: Manu Ginobili, Ben Wallace, Brad Miller.... And these guys were either picked in late 2nd round or went undrafted.
Possibly the #1 pick will pull a Francis and insist that he wont play for anyone but the Rockets[his homer town] and we make a massive trade for Okafor. To play Power Forward.
maybe the wording wasn't clear but....... what I said or what was not clearly said I guess was that the 2nd round isn't all that bad sometimes you get guys like cat who make the 2nd round worthwhile ....
Whoever's in "the know" answer me this: as of now, when will we have a for sure first round draft selection again?
The most recent was Carlos Boozer. He may now be up for Most Improved. Around 15 ppg and 10 rpg. I couldnt believe that he went that late because I thought it was pretty obvious that he was going to be good.
We have not yet traded next year's pick. And technically, we cannot trade it away until after this years draft or if we aquire a first rounder either this year or next year. So unless we get trade happy, our next draft pick that gets to shake David Stern's hand will be in 2005.
