    Yahoo.com Rockets - Heat Preview

Well the new And Improved Rockets lineup tries to dominate again . the Heat look for a good follow up to a defensive gem against the Orlando Magic , which they held to 59 points . The Starting lineups Should Be

    • Anthony Mason ----- Maurice Taylor
      Bruce Bowen ----- Shandon Anderson
      Brian Grant ----- Hakeem Olajuwon
      Eddie Jones ----- Cuttino Mobley
Tim Hardaway ----- Steve Francis [/list=a]

Finally A Game where we have a Size advantage in teh Frontcourt . Brian Grant is 6'9" which Gives Olajuwon the edge .

    Rockets 94, Heat 77.

Its time for the Rockets to heat up, no pun intended. And Miami is due for a let-up. Plus the Rox have had their way with the Eastern Conference this year, probably because the Eastern teams can't abuse us in the paint.

    Heat-89
    Rockets-92

Cat hits a 3 at the buzzer to cap a great indivual game, 25pts, 7rebs, 6asts and 3stls. Frachise comes one rebound away from 3rd career triple-double. Tim Hardaway torches the Rockets and hits seven 3's. MO and SA suck it up big time

    My prediction:

Olajuwon goes 0-5 in the first half, 3 RB, gets traded to the Heat during halftime, and comes roaring back in the second half to finish with 37/16/4.

The Rocks need to make a push before the all star game to get a couple of games above .500.

The Heat suck. Nobody and I mean nobody can shoot on that team. Unless they play good D, I say a blowout for the Rocks.

    Rockets: 92
    Heat: 82

The final score will not indicate how easy a win it will be for Houston. The Rockets know they need to do well at home, and will be looking to even their record at Compaq center. This will pave the way for the Rockets to go above .500 at home on Thursday against the Clippers. I don't expect the offense to do too well, because the Heat are a great defensive team. Still, if the Rockets were able to beat the Heat so easily in Miami, they HAVE to beat them at home.

Let's not forget that mason will reach into Mo's chest and rip his basketball eart out and dunk it. Mason is doing absolutely amazing, especially defensively. Mo is a non-factor. Bowen and Anderson cancel each other out, since both are superb defenders. Olajuwan vs. Grant, remains to be seen. Francis can go off for as much as he wants, but eddie jones and Mobley will go at it all night. personally, i think the Jones vs. Mobley duel will determine the outcome of the game. We're one of the best offensive teams in the league, we can do it. Olajuwan said he wants to, and probably will do, well against the Heat.

    My prediction:

    Rockets 85
    Heat 85

Rockets win in OT cause all the Heat starters play heavy minutes.

I don't think they can stop our offense, even with that defense. And I don't think their offense will produce that much.

    Rockets 85
    Heat 72

And just why would he want to have a good outing in front of Pat Riley? Hmmmmmm.... [IMG]

This is a good point, Sane. Eddie Jones is known as a great defensive talent as well as a gifted offensive player (though not as much as Mobley). I just hope that Mobes doesn't let Jones's defense get in his head. If Cat sticks to the game plan, we should do fine, but if Cat makes it his personal mission to score on Jones every trip down court, it might be a long game.

Please, Rudy, if Cat starts playing stupid, put Shandon in and let him finish the game. I think some ass splinters late in a close game would really cut down on many of Mobley's ill advised shots, which is mostly my only knock on the guy.

You know, Eddie jones and Cuttino Mobley are real good friends, and, as I recall, Jones said that Mobley is a great defensive player. Now, forget Mobley's defense against everyone else, doesn't that at least mean Mobes has proven to Jones that he can play D? Maybe this duel is good, and will get Mobley working on Defense tonight. If Mobley wins the duel, or matches up, then the game is Steve's for the taking. Don't get me wrong though, Jones is great, and if Mobley gets caught up in it, as well as Mo, our fate is sealed.

LOL @ darkhorse......The one thing that keeps me from picturing Hakeem in a heat uniform is Hakeem in a Pat Riley training session. he won't make it through, much like Hardaway.
