Ok.....The food is good and even priced good BUT the sports bar area is not what I call a great place to host a viewing party the place is small and it was very crowded. Also no dessert menu but they do have desserts, chocolate cake and cheesecake you just have to ask for it. Rockets need to stick with places like Dave and Busters..... Yao Mings Mother and Father were there tonight.
it wasnt bad, sure the place is a tad small...but it was pretty fun. though, this is the first viewing party ive been to.
Did you have fun or enjoy it? I wanted to go tonight but I had other things I had to deal with. Hopefully next time I can go.
Was it kind of annoying because it was small or did you expect it to be bigger and so it was kind of a let down when you got there? This was their first one (I think) so do you have any idea how they can improve it, I'm sure they are reading.
Too many people 40 minute wait no thank you. Yeah it's small and crowded. But it's pretty cool..the pictures in the front are nice.
The bar area was kinda small and it was really crowded. It was still fun since they were giving free stuff out and things were going on between breaks. Yao's parents were there greeting everyone as they left so that was kinda cool. All in all it was fun and its always nice when there are Power dancers are there.
That's why you come to LIVE....shameless plug i know.... But on a side note i have to say the crowd that was here for the game was really into it and yelling and screaming on every play it was a lot of fun.... Even though it hasn't got favorable reviews i still want to stop by Yao's and check it out...
Alot of fans got turned away because of the lack of space....... It was ok...... Even some of the Rockets crew said it was rather small to have a viewing party again.
It's actually the largest bar we've had a viewing party this season. It's just that we also had about 250 people show up - which was our largest crowd of the season too. Stack - we'll be calling you soon.
I had a blast at Yao's. My group arrived early, about an hour before tip off. We got a booth at the bar and ordered food. The service, even at the busiest was stellar. I was impressed, especially after reading the reviews of the restaurant and how terrible the service was. The waitress was all over our table and we never once had to look for her at any point in the night. The only noticable difference was when it did fill up, by halftime, the drinks were a little slower getting to us from the bar, but not too bad. The food was excellent and arrived at our table quickly. We ordered 2 apps, 3 entrees. Peking Duck, Mongolian Beef, Twice Fried Noodles, Lettuce Wraps are all delicious and well worth the price. Its def pricier than most chinese rest. but I wasn't appalled. Between 10-15 for an entree. And the entrees are large. I read that ppl were disappointed with portions and that is false now. There were lots of games and activities during the game with a MC controlling it all. Great night and a great game.
Thanks for the reviews. My buddies and I wanna go to Yao's restaurant sometime for a Rockets game, but we definitely weren't interested in the viewing party for fear that there'd be too many people. On any given night of a Rockets game, you think it'd be difficult to get a table close to the TV so we can catch the game?
The peking duck is 34 bucks and the portions are not that great, nearly 8 bucks for 4 spring rolls....
I 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th that. Awesome food, Awesome viewing, and a great atomsphere. I haven't been to Yao's resturant yet, but I plan to go.
I guess this is as good a place as any to start informing people. Next rockets viewing party will be March 28 (vs. Utah) and it will be at Live. Same things as always, Bud specials, Rockets Power Dancers, lots of giveaways, fun games and your Rockets on television.
