EVERY SINGLE team would do whatever it takes to sign Lebron James as a free agent, hell ANY free agent that can help their team win. EVERY SINGLE team is classless. I'm done with the classless NBA and it's terrible free agency rules.
You can be a fan by putting the team over everything else. If the roster was made up of 12 wife beating, drug dealing thugs and they won a championship I would love them more than if the roster was made of us 12 charitable good guys that were nothing but potential first round losers.
It is pretty classless of the Rockets though. There's no denying that whether you love or hate Lin. Like others have said they could have put a #15 or not even put a number on the jersey at all. It's a photo-shopped picture. They could have put a unicorn on it. It's just really bad PR. It should have been a non issue.
Did you think the Dwight thing was classless as well? What is happening this year is no different except the Rockets have home field advantage.
Its a harmless photoshop that Lin is taking way too seriously. Its just a number. What, do they expect to retire his jersey or something?
shake my head. This is like low income boyfriend having dinner with girlfriend and girlfriend parents and parents bring over a high income bachelor and talk up to him in front of the boyfriend with the girl. He gets it, he's not worthy of your daughter, but do you have to do him dirty like that right in front of him?
I kind of feel for Lin but lets get real, it isn't like he's built such an incredible legacy wearing the # 7 jersey while being with the Rox. Bev gave his #12 jersey up for Dwight. I can see why Lin is offended but at this point he should just be preparing himself to move on, its looking very inevitable he's not going to be a Rocket next year anyway.
OK, that's just nuts. Or hyperbole. I'll assume hyperbole. I honestly could care less what number a player wears, and I've never understood why they care. That said, they seem to care. It's not like we needed to put a photoshopped picture on the wall to convince Carmelo to come here. Of course it was disrespectful, but on a scale of 1-10 that's hovering real near the 1 end of the spectrum. A tweeted humourous bible verse in response is sitting at right about the same level.
Hypothetical because it would never happen, but there almost is not a single thing on Earth that would make me root against the team. I mean it'd have to be horribly illegal and immoral for me to not root for the Rockets. Like Les is running a child prostitution ring and Harden is actually a serial killer. And even then we can get a new owner or get the disabled player exception for Harden in that case and we'd be good. If we had a team of 15 Lance Stephensons or 15 Kevin Garnetts, I would still die for the team.
that's fine. that's you. and the difference between you and i. the rockets titles were so sweet because it was dream and a bunch of guys with no endorsement deals sticking it to the superstar climate of the nba. buying a title makes it so much less sweet.
