    Ha! Too perfect.

And Solid, who cares if the 1st round pick was expensive? It doesn't count against next year's cap AND it's Les A's money, not ours.

As someone pointed out in another thread: Morey paid less to Fisher for the rest of this season than he would've paid to Hill for the rest of this season. And we owe Fisher nothing for next year. Morey basically got cash and a first-round pick in return for Jordan Hill, who would've been gone before next year anyway.

How the hell do you see that as "expensive"? Seriously, the only thing we lose is Hill's minutes for the rest of this year, and with Camby on board, that doesn't matter.

Really? Fisher makes $3.4 mil a year, Hill $2.85 mil? How can Hill get paid more for the rest of the season than Fisher?

In that case, the person who posted that in the other thread was WRONG.

Still, with the season about 2/3 over that means DM paid roughly $350k for a late 1st-round pick. That is a bargain.

If we consider sending out 1st-round to NJ for almost nothing, it is a make up.

it's not for nothing, we take a flyer on TWill, it just didn't pan out. I remembered that more than half fans on this board approved the move.

As of now, this may not be the largest deal or the best deal of the season, but this definitely is the best calculated move, we need to give Morey some credit for his homework on this one.

Yeah, not sure if this is skill or luck. OldManRock posted in the other thread where he thinks DM basically jedi-mind tricked Fish into forgoing 3.5M$ in salary. I dunno if DM was playing 3d Chess while Fish was playing checkers, or maybe DM was actually sincere in getting Fish to come play pg with us.

Nevertheless, Fish opting out of his deal makes this move an A+ trade, albeit a minor one. If he had opted in, this would have been a D-F, as that 3.5M would have hampered flexibility and could have been the deciding amount between keeping Lee or Dragic.

With this I'm quite happy with both trades, but at the end of the day I think DM should have done more, like trading KM for other pieces so we can keep both lee and dragic on the team, or trading for Bogut, or trading for Gortat (Dalembert+Morris seems like a good deal for both teams) or some other middle-to-major deals.

We actually paid him nothing. Quoting from ESPN article from this morning:

"Fisher was officially placed on waivers at 6 p.m. ET Monday, giving teams under the salary cap 48 hours to claim him. He was owed a little less than $1 million for the rest of this season and had a player option worth $3.4 million for next season, but the Houston Chronicle reported earlier Monday that Fisher surrendered his entire 2012-13 salary to secure his buyout from the Rockets."

Scratch that didn't read correctly without my coffee :(

This is the 2011/12 season. We paid him what was left to be paid under that deal.

Where do you get those numbers at?

3.4 mil a year in a 5 month play time?

Seems more close to 750,000 ish and ESPN even reported a little under 1mil.
