Yet they still got a PG and shedded Walton all for a late 1st rounder.

I do agree on the cost cutting but I read that off some "insider's" tweet.

I think we can both agree that he's not a good pg or the Lakers wouldn't have been shopping Pau to get a new one. He's a pricey 3rd string pg...soon to be 2nd next year if they don't sign Goran. And if they do resign him, I doubt you can trade him except as filler.

Would've liked to have seen us trade for Greivis Vasquez. Solid backup PG with height.

No Cat I am not frustrated at all because I really did not expect Morey to be able to do much of anything anyway. My expectations were very low to begin with so my overall reaction is more of a "meh". Here's my take:

If you take basketball out of the equation, then what transpired is that Morey took three nothing players who were headed out the door and magically turned them into a 1st round pick, an end of the line Derek Fisher and Marcus Camby. In essence, he took three nothings and turned them into something. In that sense, Morey deserves a pat on the back. However, this sort of overlooks the fact that it was Morey who acquired these three nothings who I feel never should have been here in the first place. So what I see here is that he was basically able to cover for his initial mistake for which I give him credit for doing so.

HOWEVER, if you add basketball back into the equation, then the impact of these moves are going to be modest at best. Somewhere in the next 5 years they will be able to use Dallas' 1st round pick. (Be still my beating heart...) We replace a PF (Hill) would couldn't play the position with a guy (Camby) who actually knows how to box out an opponent. I know I will find that a refreshing thing to watch. But in the terms of competitiveness, can anyone honestly believe that this elevates them into contender status? No. It's just another small sideways move to acquire more "assets" for some future move down the road. On balance, today's events makes them "better" but leaves them still wanting.

He is putting up Rafer percentages now. I'm clinging to the hope a team like the Wiz will take his vet leadership in an off-season trade.

I literally just walked in from spending all day driving to Austin from New Orleans, and the first thing I'm going to say is **** Derek Fisher. That is all... for the moment. Excuse me while I consider pucking my guts out thinking about the ******* in a Rockets uniform.

Wait, how does this trade help us? We are already stacked at the PG position with Lowry and Dragic.

Essentially flipping JHill for a 1st round pick isn't too bad(albeit 1st rd from Dallas which won't be very high). The fishnet side of it doesn't really matter cuz he'll be gone soon but the idea of him being on a Houston Rockets professional basketball team makes me queasy.

I doubt Les wants to pay 3.4 million for Fisher to be a 3rd string pg so this move most likely means no Goran.

Personally I'd take Goran over Fisher and a mid 20 1st but in Morey we bust.

I'll buy into it. Basically Hill for a late 1st & temporary back up pg. Not bad after Howard decides to stay put for 11-12 & 12-13.

Fisher will be with us next season, unless he's moved over the summer. I may be sick.

I don't think so. I think he will be bought out and will retire.
