With all the trades we have done this summer, our Rockets is much stronger than at the end of our playoff run. Can we be possible TOP 3 in the West?

    1. SA Spurs
    2. Minn (Just as strong as last yr barring injury)
    3. Rockets (TMAC, Yao, J Howard, Mutumbo ....we went from dumb ball IQ team to pretty experience and smart)
    4. LA Lakers (check out their lineup, on paper it is not that bad)
    5. Dallas Mavs ( they have Terry, but they lost ALOT)
    6. Sac ( Losing Peja and they are startin to blow up that lineup )
    6. Memphis (Hubie Brown)
    7. Denver (Pretty damn good)
    8. New Orleans (who cares)

I think its possible, but with the additions Denver made in the offseason I feel they are about the same level as the Rockets for the upcoming season. In the long run I think the Rockets are building something more special than Denver has, but I'm not sure we are all the way at #3 yet. I'd put the Rockets and Denver in the 4-5 spot.

no, each divison winner gets the 1-3 seed, and were not better than the spurs.

    dont forget Phx and Utah!

i think the Rox could be as high as 3rd but as low as not making the playoffs. the West is THAT tough.

plus, we were fortunate last year with little to no major injuries. hope we are as lucky this year

You have the Lakers too damn high....

    :)

    more like...

    Spurs
    Wolves
    Kings
    Houston
    Denver
    Memphis
    Dallas
    Utah

The Lakers lost more than people think. It really depends on how Dallas and Utah mesh.....maybe the Fakers can sneak the 7th or 8th

    1. Spurs (best team just added Brent Barry)
    2. T-Wolves (#1 seed in reg. season, got experience, confidents, and chemstry)
    3. Kings (still very talanted roster: Miller, CWebb, Peja/Artest, Christie, Bibby, Jackson, Ostertag)
    4. Rockets (the Big Mac combo should earn a home court adv. in 1st rd.)
    5. Nuggets (got K-Mart but still one spot behind Rockets)
    6. Lakers (IF healthy still a playoff team in the West)
    7. Suns (Q helps but Nash makes them a playoff team)
    8. Grizzlies (Hubie Brown)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    9. Jazz (lack of a go-to-guy will cost them a playoff berth again)

    1. Spurs
    2. T-Wolves
    3. Nuggets (sorry - that is a deep, athletic team)
    4. Rockets
    5. Grizzlies
    6. Kings (unless they get stupid and trade peja)
    7 & 8 Lakers/Suns/Dallas/Jazz

the Lakers and the Mavs are completly disfunctional now - it will be "Kobe and the Bry-Ants". The Lakers have nothing but small forwards and a 37 year old Divac

The Mavs have nothing but shooting guards (including Dirk)

PHX - has no big man

Jazz - have no go to guy

I continue to disagree. I think that because they lost Shaq, that the Lakers are being, as George W. Bush would say, "misunderestimated". They are a DEEP team when you consider the additions of Divac, Odom, Grant, and Butler to play along side Kobe Bryant. And those guys are going to love playing for Rudy T.

    LA Lakers

    PG: Banks, Atkins
    SG: Kobe, Rush
SF: Odoms, Butler, George, L Walton
PF: Malone (if not retire), B Grant, Medenvenko
    C: Divac, Mihm, Cook
    Coach: Rudy T

Possible Addition: Eddie Griffin (remember who drafted him...Mr Rudy T);)

Divac as a passing center, that is not bad at all. They have enough quality SF to bring back a nice big man, if they choose.

Well San Antonio gaining home court is a given... but I believe everything else is up for grabs. The west is crazy. It's gonna be a fun year.

My ranking, with more optimistic view for the Rockets. This is a ranking of WC teams, not playoff seating.

    1. Rockets
    2. Spurs
    3. T-wolves
    4. Nuggets
    5. Jazz
    6. Lakers
    7. Mavericks
    8. Grizzilies/Suns/Hornets

Top 4.....possibly. I like the moves the Rox have made in the offseason.
Top 3......that's reaching when you have as much talent as exists in the West. Point guard will be an Achilles heel for the Rox.

Each leader in their division is guarateed the spot 1 through 3, so if we don't beat out San Antonio we will get bumped down to fourth even if we have the second best record in the west.

Now if you are saying we will have the THIRD BEST OVERALL record in the west then i can understand what you are saying. However, there is no way in hizzle that we can get the THIRD SEED.
