They should do this 82+ times next year too.

What are they going to do about the ugly ass court? It may look strange playing in the traditional Rocket uniforms with that hideous court.

throwback gear is one of the most popular fashions on the streets right now.

in fact, i see more people wearing retro Astros gear here in NY than i did in HOuston.

i would buy vintage gear in a heartbeat, onlyproblem is that it is $250 for a jersey

I remember my dad complaining about the Astros' rainbow uniform. Now, even the hottest rappers are wearing that jersey.

Incredible! I wonder what a vintage Pinto or Gremlin would go for today?

please don't wear the astros' cap. astros' and priates' caps are the worst looking caps ever. just because other people are wearing them, doesn't mean you have to wear them.

Orlando was the last team the Rockets played wearing the retros...in the Finals.

We chose the home jerseys because that's how most people remember the team -- wearing their colors, instead of the arguably more generic white home uniforms.

I don't have the exact numbers on this handy, but, for example, the overwhelming majority of jerseys bought are the away versions, not the home versions. It's also pretty obvious when you take a walk around Compaq and see which versions of jerseys people are wearing.

Personally, I'd love to see us play in our colors for our home town fans, and save the whites for the road. (It's not so radical -- look at the NFL.) But all the other owners would have to agree to it first.

I think it had to do with the P Diddy video. He is sporting one, so of course all the kids have to have one.

Well, the Rockets could always bring back that court with solid blue at both ends and stars everywhere! :D

A-Train, that would be funny as hell. The league should consider retro floors.

    Tim, I have to agree.

I would much rather see a team in there "team color" jersey then the generic "white" jersey. It is quite obvious that most people like the colored jerseys better anway, they are alway the bigger sellers. It is very odd then that that is not the jersey that is worn during home games.

I think in the NFL the home team gets to choose which jersey they want to wear. In the hotter months the home teams ususally choose their white jersey to make it cooler for them and in the winter months you usually see the home teams choose the darker jerseys.

Perhaps in the NBA the having that choice is not a good option but just have the team color jersey be the home jersey. I agree with ya!

My dad told me long ago that home-team whites and lights are a throwback to black-and-white TV days (any remember those?). The home team wore light colors so that you could tell at a glance which team was the home team. Same with the home team having its score listed as the bottom one so you can tell just by looking at the score where the game is being played. These traditions are the same for all sports as far as I know.

I went to the mall today and was surprised at how much of the NBA retro stuff is in stock. I saw stuff for the Sixers, Nets, Blazers, Warriors, Kings (Royals), Nuggets, Bulls, Pistons, Celtics, Los Angeles, and the Rockets. Unfortunately the Rockets gear was a black shooting shirt with Rockets on the front in red with yellow trim and an old Rockets logo patch on the sleeve. I saw another retro Rocket shooting shirt in white. I believe neither shirt was used as real warmups by the team. I asked an employee at The Finish Line when Rockets stuff was coming in and he said we're getting stuff weekly then tried to sell me a Yao, Francis, or Mobley jersey. I said no thanks.
