Chris Yates, of some TV station up in Dallas, went on NBA TV and told them that a "coach" within the Mavs organization were afraid that the RoX would end the Mavs unbeaten streak. Of course, the coach didn't say it on air, but I think we match up well with the Mavs, and the Mavs basically got blown out in two of the fours games against the Rox.
hmm... i dont see why they would be afraid? I mean 11 game winning streak is crazy. Be happy wile u have it. Though hope they kill LA tonight, and then rocks win thursday...with yao having a big night, that would rock the sports headlines.
I would love for us to kill the Mavs! And I have a good feeling that we might beat them. I hope Yao has a big game so ESPN and the rest of the media start liking him.
The Mavs are tough match-ups everywhere, but KT should have a big game against Adrian Griffin and Yao Ming should do well against Bradley. We match up pretty good with the Mavs compared to most teams. Will need a big game from Steve & Cat........The streak stops now.!!!!!!
We are the only real team who can matchup with the Mavs run-and-gun style. Not only that, but our frontcourt is also better so I look for the Rockets to win this one.
Yeah baby! I'm staying home from work to see this one. We have to defend our record to start a season. If we don't then it's smooth sailing for them. It's like when the '85 Bears stormed into Miami to play the Dolphins. The Fins had all of their players from the 1972 team (perfect season) in attendance and Marino and Co. slammed Chicago, giving them their only loss of the season. Not saying that the Mavs could go 82-0, but this game should be about taking pride in what that '94 team accomplished. Hey maybe we could get Carl Herrera, Scotty Brooks, and Tim Breaux to come as representatives of the '94 Rocks.
Who's going to hold Dirk? He seems to become a player almost like Duncan with handles. and you know how Duncan hurts us inside.
Huh -- what about Shaq's Queens, I mean the Sactown Kings. Or that odd shooting NW group from Seattle?
As Shooter pointed out, we are the ones that give the Mav's tough matchups. We beat the hell out of them last year when we were lucky to beat anyone. Steve and Cat do not have a problem with this team at all. The Mavs have improved defensively, but they don't have anyone that's capabale of guarding either one of them. Put Eddie on Nowitski this year and it may be even more lopsided toward us this year. But the Mavs have really looked good. Funny saying this, but maybe Yao's performance could be the determining factor. But even if he's not, we give Dallas fits in a way that only the best in the league can. Thursday's going to be my Thanksgiving a week early. I don't expect us to win, but it could so easily happen.
I'm also hoping that the Rockets end the 'Ricks streak. It's very possible because the mavs have never been able to stop Stevie and Cat. Adrian Griffin won't mean anything in this game for defense against # 3 and # 5. I think Cat will be the key to winning the game, by defending Finley really good and lighting it up from the perimeter. Stevie will do just fine against Nash. The only potential problem I see in this game is Dirk Nowitski. We have some very respectable 3's( Rice, Kt, Griff etc..) but i don't know how the rox will be able to contain him. Maybe Juaquin will be the difference. Things are looking good in Rocketland Cod
Rockets need to work more on how to break the zone defense, with more PnR, and players involving centers. Dallas uses a lot of zone this year. But they are really bad on one on one defense.
There's a change, last year we split the series two games a piece. If Yao gets about 10pts and 5rbs we have a chance, if Francis and Mobley get 20pts or close to 20pts each there's a chance. I say yes, Dallas streak has to end soon! We can't let them beat the Rockets record of 16-0. Let's go Rockets, let's kick their butt!!!!
