I just spoke to someone who said the Rockets called him to see if he would renew season tickets and they told him Van Gundy is the new coach. Sounds like it will be announced very soon!

You have to believe it is a TOTAL done deal then. If sales people in the Rockets office are saying he is the coach. It has to be done.

if salespeople at the rockets know, and are allowed to repeat it to customers, then we can expect an onslaught of news reports...like 3 hours ago.

Didn't we get a rumor of Rudy stepping down from somebody who's source was a BALL BOY?!

I can't wait to hear what the power dancers know...

Didn't somebody tell you to stop doing this? Just quoting someone else without saying anything does not add any value and is annoying. Stop it.

well, its easier that way coz we will just say the same thing. so instead of seeing just a double of the words he said, i just quote him. i didnt know you guys are offended by that. im sorry, wont happen again.

Yeah, I remember that thread. I guess that guy was proved right after all, although I don't remember who that was. I'm not surprised that the media isn't reporting on it; they're not going to go with a story because salespeople are saying it, but hey that's the difference between espn and the cc.net board. Personally, I think it's a done deal and the media know it, but are waiting for a press conference to be scheduled first.

I just called rockets office and said I wanted to renew my rockets tickets and the lady I talked to said she has not heard anything yet.....so i got a feeling this guy just wants to say told you so when he had no real info.

I just talked to one of the beer vendors and he said that the Rockets are very close to dealing Mobley and Griffin to the Clippers for Brand and Miller...I'll have more later on...

Oh yeah? Well I just talked to a drifter who was hanging around near the new arena asking for change, and he told me that there's a STRONG chance our next coach will be none other than Jeff Van Gundy ... or Mike Dunleavy.

I have no problem with it. If you want to just reiterate what someone said I think it's fine.

In fact, I prefer that to forcing yourself to write something that isn't worth reading. It gets the message across efficiently.

I just talked to a stripper at the Gold Cup and she said that Van Gundy likes tall redheads and has a fetish for feet. Looks like CD and Les are covering all the aspects that Houston has to offer.
