Are the Rockets only going to be on KNWS 51 or Channel 2 for the majority of next season? If so.....are they going to have improved broadcasting and better quality? It was difficult to watch at times!

The answer to that is "probably." Since they are working towards their own sports network to be in place for the 2005 season, I doubt they'll revert to a contract with Fox Sports. My guess is that they will limp along using KNWS and occassionally Channel 39 this season.

It was so freaking sweet a couple/three years ago when all the games were on UPN 20. Absolutely perfect reception. And I really hope they stop playing the "I'm tried and true from Texas" Brake-Check commercials. God those are so annoying. If Brake Check's going to sponsor them again, just get new commercials.

Ditto. Like...the win against the Lakers.

I wish they had had it when the Rockets beat the Mavs the season before last 124-87. I was at the game (one of only two games my entire life) and I wanted to watch it on TV. Those were great memories, the games in the '01-'02 season before Stevie went down with plantar faciatis and The Migranes.

I didn't have a problem with 51 at all. My reception was clear as hell. And I also enjoyed the repeats at midnight when they won.

I can't wait till 2005 though. Like Jeff stated the Rockets and Astros are suppose to get their own network. And Tim has said the arena will be wired for HD broadcasts. So hopefully the home games would be on HD.

Funny thing how TV advertising works. You could almost sing the damn commercial. I'm sure Brake Check would be happy to know that.

The 100,000 question is would you actually USE Brake Check?
Probably not! Why? Because of the annoying commercials.

BTW - I worked at 20 and loved it when the Rox were on 20.
    Good old times!!!

I also agree about the Brake Check commercials. GOD I HATED THOSE COMMERCIALS! Now I wouldn't use that place if I needed it.

    same here with the reception.

I really enjoyed the repeats because If you forgot to tape the game live, they showed the whole thing again.

You wouldn't support them when they helped ensure the telecasts were on? I would. Emphatically.

I could never get 51 after about 8pm. Still can't. I did love the midnight replay though, especially when I worked late. I would just unplug the cable and plug in the antena and get a better reception.

What's wrong with that picture? Pun intended.

Ha, those Break Check commercials are annoying but dont think they are not going to stop cause I believe they are major sponsers. I dont think there are as bad as 10 years ago when they were on 20 Vision (heh, OLD SKOOL :), where they had a commercial for Texas State Optical (TSO) and they showed a list of doctors. It got SO BAD that it got to the point in the middle of the season, I named each doctor BY MEMORY and I was like only 10!!! Talk about addiction. :)

BTW, I loved watching the games on 51. The midnight repeats are great and I get perfect reception with Time Warner.

I just always wondered what being "mean like an alligator" had to do with brakes. I get "strong like a bear." You want your brakes to be strong, but mean? What the hell is that about?

If your brakes don't get you a grip on stopping you can step out in your aligator shoes and hoof it to the bayou.

I like the way the "Eddie Griffin brake check block party" quickly turned into the "Rockets brake check block party" after he was exposed as a pothead.
