Id love to have a guy like Zaza. Hes still young, has experience(playoffs too), not too flashy on offense but I think he could get the job done. Question is, what are we going to pay him? We have no money. As Vakeaton's agent put it, it would be a slap in Zaza's face if we offered the minimum.
It' not a direction. It's short term damange control. Any FA we sign is going to be worth the minimum and a sign and trade with our trade exception is worth around $2 million.
he gets zero blocks per game. teams would be attacking the basket non stop. it's like having scola at center all season... without the offense.
Ric Bucher posted on Twitter that the Hawks don't want to spend any money this off-season. They currently have only 6 players signed. A minimum of 13 players is required by the NBA. A S&T of Cook + $3M cash would cost them only 500k to fill a roster spot. That's pretty near the rookie min.
If Yao were fit,it would be all right. No use for him on a rebuilding squad. This would guarantee being over the LT.
Ill rather have Channing Frye over Zaza!!!!(i like the name)and are you sure Zaza is 7'0 feet(Garnett 6'11)
Kevin Garnett is the only player in the NBA who is actually listed at BELOW is actual height. NBA teams typically inflate their players' heights by about 1-2". However, when Garnett was with the T-Wolves and he was continuing to grow into his body, he specifically requested that the team list him at 6-11. He did not want to be viewed as a center based on his height. He is actually closer to between 7-1 and 7-2.
