Rockets SWagger Is Back

Last year you saw the swagger in Sura,Barry and Tmac. I haven't seen it in these Rockets until this 5 game winning streak. I think its returning and if it has the rest of the NBA had better watch out because when YAO AND TMAC ARE ON AND THE ROLE PLAYERS ARE DOING THERE THING WE CAN"T BE BEAT. Go Rockets!!!

Asked about point guard Baron Davis' impact on the Warriors, Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy launched into a vintage Van Gundy rant in his never-ending mission to expose a sports cliché.

"If I was going to go with a cliché, I would say, 'he gives them a swagger,' because that is now the all-encompassing cliché. It's not he gives them a swagger, he gives them a game and the game breeds confidence.

"You can take Baron Davis at 42. He would have the same personality and there would be no quote swagger because he couldn't break a defense down. That is the myth that surrounds 'swagger.' They're confident because they win. They win because he's great at what he does.

"Here's another one: 'I don't know what my role is.' Translation: 'I don't like my role. I don't get to shoot enough.' I never hear 'I don't know what my role is' from a good player. It's always the ... players whose role is 'sit your ... on the bench because you ... and we have a better chance of winning without you.' I don't have my swagger. Coach ain't giving me my swagger. Baron Davis gave me my swagger, but now I don't know my role. Well, now I know my role because Baron Davis gave me my swagger and my role."

Gundy is just a tad bit cynical especially with the media. Can't blame him, I'm sure the New York media has grilled his a$$ before and they still do even though he left NY.
