I think we will be making another deal but I like the lineup. I do not think that Cato will be starting. I can see a deal for a veteran PF coming.

do you think that Mobley is gonna start? I just figured they would have him come off the bench but have him play 35 minutes a game.

i wanted to comment about the PF spot with Hakeem like someone metioned...I think its not a bad idea, he could give most PF's fits, but they might be able to bang him around on the defensive end.

Mobley won't start, but he probably should. As the chronicle reported he hit .490 FG % for April. That is all he needed to be deemed a starter in my mind. Rudy likes him off the bench and is usually reluctant to change what has been working. Williams will get the nod at SF despite the fact our team would be better off with Shandon starting at the three. If the team fails early, look for the roster I listed above. Or look for Langhi to start like you said. He's versatile.

Hakeem has played many power forwards in the past. He used to match up well. I don't know about how he would match up this year, but what I do know is that Cato will be useless at the 4. Offensively he's going to do nothing outside of three feet. And although he swatted Malone like 8 times in five minutes, most PF will drive right around him for the easy basket. Most Centers won't.

Nobody else can play the 4 at a high level. we need Hakeem to do it.

    C cato
PF thomas OR (whoever we may get)
    SF williams
    SG anderson
    PG francis

If Olajuwon is at all comfortable and plays half as good as he can(im just not expecting him to play at all so i cant be let down) this season he will step in at the starting center, with cato backing him and kenny.Langhi could start but i see rudy bringing him off the bench at least until the 1st 20 or so games. With mobley coming off the bench are secondary group looks pretty good to,specially if we can get a starting PF.We could have mobley, langhi, thomas, and moochie coming off the bench.

I definitely want to see Dream and Cato on the floor at the same time. I'm not sure whether Cato would do well at the PF or not...we'd have to see him there for a while. I think that it would be easier for him to do center because there are less high offense centers than there are PFs. Dream would probably be able to mix it up well with the PFs. I also want to give walt the start after the way he went out last season. I think he will continue that kind of offense. So, I guess this would be my lineup.

    C - Cato
    PF- Dream
    SF- Walt
    SG- Anderson
    PG- Drew

Just kidding. PG- Francis. Had some of you all worried there didn't I?

    pg- francis
    sg- anderson
    sf- walt williams
    pf- KT
    c- dream

going into this offseson there was talk of getting croshere, talk of replacing walt with a better SF and benching awlt, recently talk of myabe getting wallace. But, at the end of all of this, we havn't goten rid of anybody and we didn't add a stellar player in the draft . All we got were collier and langhi. Do i smell a lottery pick in 2001?

    Francis
    Shadon
    Walt
    Cato
    Hakeem

If Walt struggles I would like to see Langhi start. But I, like other think there is a deal for a big man yet to come. So lets all of us hold off on predicting rosters, and wins for just a few more weeks.

I really hope it changes, but at this point
I start Francis, Anderson, Williams, Thomas
and Dream. We need a 4, and I would trade Carlos, Kenny,Williams, Drew, the exception and my mother-in-law (who has a tasty hook shot) to get one. If williams goes, I would start Cat @the 2, Anderson at the 3, with Langhi as my6th man, but as long as Williams is here, he'll start. He's not as good off the bench.

    C-Kelvin Cato or Hakeem Olajuwon
    PF-Kenny Thomas
    SF-Walt Williams
    SG-Shandon Anderson
    PG-Steve Francis
The main bench players are Moochie Norris, Cuttino Mobley, Dan Laghi, Carlos Rogers and Kelvin Cato or Hakeem Olajuwon. My predictions are the Rockets are going to win 49 games and lose 33.

I think it will be essential to start Dream because that's when can produce. As the game goes along I think Dream will be less effective due to his stamina. So basically we should start the line-up around dream then switch it to Francis' as the game goes along.
This means that we need a PF who has both high post game and a lost post game. Webber, Garnett, Wallace are the guys we really need to add extra dimention to the game but none of them are available. The best we can hope is that we either sign Webber by beating the odds or we draft Curry then develope him into a high/lost player.
    The Dream's line-up
    PG: Francis
    SG: Anderson
    SF: Williams/Langhi
    PF: Thomas
    C: Olajuwon

    Francis' line-up
    PG: Francis
    SG: Cat
    SF: Anderson
    PF: Collier/Langhi
    C: Cato
The former is based on height, low post ability, and the latter is based on Speed, ball handling, shooting.
To make the PO we need dream contributing, but to make Dream contributing we need to create an enviroment for dream. Yes, it will be a nightmare to go back to old 'chuck to low post players then see what happens' system for a single minute but let's try to create an chemistry which will allow Dream to produce for 15-20mins. We can always go back to run and gun in other 28-33mins.

This may be a slap in the face to dream, bu ti would start Cato and let dream run with the second unit, allowing him to play against fatigued centres and other back-ups.

So for the starting line-up would be

    Francis
    Shandon
    Langhi
Massenburg or if my dream cam true Forston
    Cato

One thing is obvious. If we are going to trade for a PF he better be able to shoot the 15 foot shot. I mean Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley are the 1-2 punch, with Shandon and Walt making shots from the perimeter and slashing to the whole. Langhi will be a wild card. Collier is the type of PF we will get. That being said here's my choice at the moment:

    G. Francis ; Norris
    G. Anderson ; Mobley
    F. Williams ; Bullard(?); Langhi
    F. Massenburg ; Thomas ; Rogers
    C. Olajuwon ; Cato ; Collier

Guys there maybe still be changes. I mean what about Pig Miller, I like him a lot. He deserves a chance to make the team. Not sure about Massenburg though, can he stay healty?

I see I already have a recrut in Smegster (FUN Police obviously are not good spellers). But anyways, Smeg do you actually believe Hakeem will be content coming of the bench. I dont think so. I dont think we should ask him to either. Just let him start as long as he is healthy and substitue a little quicker if u have too.
