Steve Francis just told Lisa Malosky the Rockets were petitioning the league to try and wear the retro uniforms for the remainder of the season and, if we make it, the playoffs. He said even if they couldn't keep them for the last five games, he hoped the league would be lenient and let them wear them in the post-season. How cool would that be?

If that isn't a "I never want to put on those other uniforms again" statement, I don't know what is. Man, it was so wierd watching them in those uni's tonight. Everytime I saw the back of Eddie Griffin's jersey, I thought it was Otis Thorpe out there. :)

That just shows Steve appreciates the history of the game, and by the way the Rockets played in them tonight, I'm all for it.

Of course the NBA will not let the Rockets do that. :(

They looked totally different! I don't mind if they do or not. It brings us good luck! But of course, if we do win the next 5 games with those jerseys...we will still be swept by the Mavs...or Spurs. ;)

I liked the stripped arm bands and socks. It looked coooooool. I hope the Rockets get to wear of the jerseys some more!!! You can tell the Rockets play better when they know they're looking better in the jerseys :)

I loved it. The NBA is too full of stuffed shirts and bean counters to let the Rocks do it, but I wish they would.

If they wouldn't even let Jordan wear his #23 right after the first comeback without fining him, they sure as hell ain't gonna be kind to us.

Oh, no kidding! Tonight was great! I was having flashbacks.

    Glen Rice = Lewis Lloyd
    MoT = Rodney McCray
    James Posey = Mitch Wiggins
    Tito Maddox = John Lucas
    Jason Collier = Jim Peterson
    Larry Smith = Bill Fitch

OK, that last one was a stretch...

I'm sick and tired of this whole retro fad, that is as annoying as bobblehead dolls.

Anyway, the lettering on the backs of the jersey look different than from the past.

I need a picture of Steve in that jersey, decked out in headbands, armbands, and high socks. That was cool old school.

it seems to me that if you came at the league from a financial perspective that they would allow you to do it. The use of the old school jersey's could only increase sales and thus increase revenue. It is all in presentation. You know the sales of the pajamas have to be lacking. Increase the fans interest, increase the players intensity and increase the leagues sales. It's win, win, win baby.

As a side note to les, or for that matter, any other owner. If you buy a team and they win the championship, don't be so quick to change the uni's

That would be so awesome if we got to wear them for the rest of the year. There is a certain aura with those uni's. They are defintiely cool.
