So funny, today I got a call from the Rockets asking 1. How did I like the draft party? HMMM!! Besides you having JH on the mic, and trading Swift and Gay....greeeeeeeat. 2.Would I like to purchase tickets (section 115 my fav)....for 4000.00 and some change? HAHAHA! Did you see our home record last year, maybe after I see all the movement this offseason. Now, we have no Swift, no Gay, and the major hyped Mike James has trotted on out to Minny. Looking at the Rockets roster right now..I dont think I would be able to bare many of the home games...if we dont make any major moves. Personally, I wonder if CD is just trying to sink the ship...that he feels like he built.
Your making our team sound like complete crap when its not. Last time I checked, we still have Yao and TMac.
The stage is definetly set for Yao and TMac to take it up to another level. If any of these potential FA had any chance of stepping on Yao and TMac's toes, now they will be able to operate with minimal high caliber support if any at all. We need both of them to stay healthy more than ever.
Ryan Bowen dosen't count, so technically we played with 4 players. To make them go 7 games was impressive and Yao is now a completly different player from that miserable night.
Those guys annoy the hell out of me. They called me off the hook last season and after explaining to them that I don't live in Houston anymore and only come back whenever I get the chance to, they give me the "well, when do you usually come down...blah, blah, blah."
It isn't about whether the Rockets are his/yours/my/our team anymore, it's about whether this product is something worth dipping major cash into right now. What percentage of this BBS have been annual season ticket holders for the past 3 years, 5, years, 10 years, etc? Maybe you don't have the cash, maybe you're not in town, maybe your wife can only put up with you watching on TV. It doesn't define you as a fan. I'm in the same boat; I've had a tickets of some type for the last 13 years. Through the championships, post-championship slide, the ugly transition, and the JVG era. Last year was an abysmal product. Period. I couldn't convince people to go to games with me. I enjoyed the Red Alert games (especially vs the Warriors), but all in all, I paid good money to watch absolute unentertaining garbage. That doesn't mean I don't care. That doesn't mean I'm quitting on the team. But it does mean I'm going to think twice about pouring another few thousand dollars into what might still be a bad product. Evan
I'll never why you guys even bother posting, if that how you feel, cool then just leave, what the point of posting?
They called me like a month ago. It was the funniest yet the most pathetic sale pitch I have ever heard.
I'm probably not very typical but I try to get over to Houston (from Austin)for a few games a year and for both of the games in San Antonio. I'll be substituting those trips with my League Pass this year.
If you had giving me a call or posted on here that you had tickets, I would have took a plane to Houston from Los Angeles to go with you. People need to appreciate this team. I LOVE this team and will never give up on them. Even when they let the Dream go and I was crushed, I stuck with them. Even we year after year they were embrassed by the Great Lakers and I had to take crap from family and friends who are all Laker fans, I stuck with them. So a failed Free agency wont make me just off the wagon, BUT, if you run into the problem of having extra tickets next year, please let me know. One of my plans the last few years has been to come down to Houston to attend a Rockets game and buy some Rockets merchandise that I cant find online and in LA. I will be more than glad to go with you. Drinks on me!!! I turn 21 in December!!!
So true, I drive down for Dallas every season at least 8-10 times a season to watch team in person, I can't stand when people talk about this kind of crap. 20+ years of being a fan and only death will put a stop to it on my end.
