Personally, assuming that we sign a back up center and pick up Bonzi Wells again by spliting the MLE, I think we should keep the 22 win streak lineup intact Rafer Tmac Shane Scola Yao Then we would have the most formidable second unit in the league. Steve Francis Bonzi Wells Ron Artest Joey Dorsey Roster Center HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE THE ROTATION?
2nd Unit should include Brooks, because NO ONE is gonna mess with little man while Uncle Ron, is there on the wing. And you forgot about Barry, who will be playing the 1/2 off of the bench.
starting lineup: Rafer Tmac Artest Scola Yao 2nd unit: Brooks Barry Battier Dorsey/Hayes Roster Center
1) Why would you think we are signing Bonzi? 2) What you call the best backup unit in the league has a washed scrub at PG, a washed up scrub a SG, a totally unproven rookie at PF, and an unknown probably an offensive scrub at C 3) If Ron Artest isn't starting I will ROFL and then cry when he goes nuts and tears this team apart.
Yao - Scola - Artest - Tmac - Francis [by the end of the season] Deke - Landry/dorsey-battier-Barry- Rafer [this team could beat the new Sac kings] Rocket River
i believe we need to get a backup true center first. then after that: rafer barry and brooks can all share time at the 1 tmac artest and battier can all rotate between the 2 and 3 scola and landry taking turns at the 4 yao ming and dorsey switching at the 5 when barry comes in at the 1, let tmac facilitate for us. chucky hayes and mike harris can play the 3 or 4 when we're in foul trouble/tired/blow outs thats about a 9 man rotation not including chuck and harris, which is a good amount. and if francis shows that he can play, he should prob take brook's spot, and if head stops making bad plays, he could prob take brook's spot too, cause we need a shooter to space out the floor for tmac artest and yao. prob shouldnt let brooks play THAT much unless he pans out well.
First of all, I'd try and sign Jason Williams as a back pg cuz brooks still cant be relied on. Jason williams is a competant pg and can be signed prolly on the cheap right now.. Rafer/Jwill/brooks/francis Artest/Barry/Head Tmac/Battier/Barry/Novak Scola/Landry(assuming we get him back)/Hayes/Dorsey Yao/Dorsey/Deke That's 16 ppl I believe so somehow we gotta cut one spot which we can do by either trading head or novak in a minor deal..
Starters: Rafer Tmac Artest Scola Yao Bench: Brooks Barry Battier Dorsey Hayes Deke Landry Who is first off the bench and what will the rotations look like?
depending on how the team performs in camp i expect shane more willing to come off the bench he is still going to get like 30 mins a game rafer tmac ron-ron luis yao then: battier barry francis dorsey landry (if resigned) deke/hayes i think the starters could be the same as last year but i see battier/artest to be the first 6th man off the bench while the other guards/big will be rotated in and out depending on matchup/fouls etc. i am sure coach adeleman and coach turner dont mind having this problem
I agree but I would include steve francis in that. There have been reports that he is getting in shape and preparing to do a better job this coming year. Some sites had Yao Artest Battier McGrady Alston I say have Battier coming off the bench. With Artest and Scola hustling around the basket. I just can't wait. WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Once you build up a lead in the 4th period, you roll out the IRON MAIDEN lineup: Mutumbo Hayes Artest Battier [point guard] try to score on that lineup in the half court. Just try.
Personally, i don't think Adelman will give Artest a bench role. He is just too good to sit on the bench for the majority of the game. My starters for next season are as follows: PG - Alston (Will be the setup man for the "Big 3") SG - McGrady (Enough said) SF - Artest (Our final piece of the puzzle has arrived) PF - Scola (A hard working, gritty player) C - Yao (A superstar Center) Bench: PG - Francis (It seems like he is pumped for next year)/Brooks SG - Brent Barry (A 3pt shooter and an exceptional passer)/Head (Maybe) SF - Shane Battier (His full time job is defending the opposition's star player) PF - Landry (Hopefully he'll sign)/ Hayes (A defensive specialist) C - Deke (Arguably one of the finest shot blockers in the history of the NBA) Just looking at this lineup makes me salivate. I can't wait any longer before the season starts. However, i think there is a few holes that DM might want to address before the season officially tip off. Firstly, i am still not 100% sure whether SF3 can be a consistent contributor. I hope he can stay healthy throughout the season. Secondly, we must solve the Landry situation right now. I am starting to get annoyed with his contractual problem with the rockets. DM must clean that up asap. Finally, DM needs to make a decision on Luther Head. I like his shooting skills, but we've got Brent Barry who is better than Head in almost every aspect of the game. Hence, it makes Head expendable.
Assuming we resign Landry, Deke and the team stay configured as is. With minor trades of Head and Novak for TE. Here is my lineup: Starters Alston TMac Artest Scola Yao 2nd Unit Francis(he will be ready and should play before Brooks) Barry(should be able to get spot minutes at the PG) Battier Landry/Dorsey Dorsey/Deke(depending on matchup) Last bench spot Brooks(just for the pupose of playing against the speedy PG) IR Hayes Harris Leunen
