Alston, Battier, Head, Howard, McGrady, Mutombo, Novak, Snyder, Spanoullis, Sura ( maybe) if not sura then Lampe, Wesley, Yao, Lucas III.

I like this lineup. my only problem is figuring out a good starting lineup. Mcgrady and Yao are startes thats a given. Battier could be a starter as well as howard. The only problem is finding Battier and McGrady on the floor at the same time. both are SF. My guess is that Battier would come off the bench. But the starting lineup is almost the same one that took dallas to 7 games minus sura. I think we have a better bench. I remember when we were overcrowded at PF now we just need one. Somewhere in there is a combination that can work. perhaps having snyder be a starter than wesley.

    Starters
Alston - Head, Lucas III, Spanoullis
    Wesley - Snyder
    McGrady -Battier-Novak
    Howard -Battier, ??
    Yao - Mutombo, Lampe

Wesley and Lampe are no longer with the team.

I don't think the Rockets traded for Battier to come off of the bench but there is still a good chance that Howard will start at the 4. I just happen to think that there is just as good of a chance for Battier to start there as well. CD has made several comments about Battier playing the 4.

I don't think David Wesley or Maciej Lampe are considered part of the roster anymore.

They aren't. They're with other teams.

Mcgrady and Battier are not a problem on the floor at the same time. They are going to be a huge plus.

The problem is Juwan and Yao on the floor at the same time. That combination is TERRIBLE.

If Juwan stays on this team, I sure hope he only gets to play backup minutes at the 5 when Yao is out of the ballgame. He is too slow to play power forward in the NBA. He is an undersized backup center.

Yes both Wesley and Lampe are free agents. They have not been signed by anyone else.

Lampe played on Phoenix summer team.

Wesley has been reportedly close to signing with Cleveland.

I dont understand why Tmac cant play SG position?? He is as quick as players like Kobe and Allen and he has played SG position before and performed great. I think Rox should use this lineup:

    Yao/Mutombo
    Jho/Hayes
    Battier/Novak
    Tmac/Snyder/Sura
    Alston/Span/JL

Any lineup including the guy that can't afford  is going to be a great disappointment. I hope he is moved before the summer is up. JVG will have him sucking up 30 minutes a night as long as he is on the roster.

    A couple of reasons:
    1) McGrady has stated his preference for playing the three over the two.
    2) Van Gundy has said McGrady's natural position is the three.
    3) Chasing quicker, smaller twos around the perimeter is just not the best thing for an ailing back.

I can see McGrady playing the two in the postseason to get favorable matchups, but I don't really like him doing it in the regular season. Maybe spot minutes here or there in late-game situations and such.

2's move around a lot more and Tmac doesn't want to hurt his back.

Would JVG ever consider switiching to zone? This would keep McGrady and Battier from chasing quicker players and their size and length could wreak havoc in a zone.
