I heard Matt Thomas say this on 740.

ehhh, I dont know. I thought he was effective at times, but he needs to hit more timely shots.

What?! Fools!!! He can't play back-up center!

He was a better shooter than everyone else outside of Cuttino and Jackson though.

Overall, I think this is a good signing, he played decent for us last season in the limited minutes he had; escpically toward the end of the season. He is a good shooter and a big man, so that is a good combination. I expect him to do better this season.

good signing, he can spread the defense from the 3 pt. line and knows the system.

I like Padgett, I think he serves a purpose stretching the defense with his outside shooting. But there is no room for him, Sppon, Mot, and Juwan, where do you fit him, unless of course they decided against Mutombo and intend to use him at the backup center spot... In which case that would be bad news and mean Yao better get prepared to play 35 plus minutes a game.

This guy kept us in so many games last year, it was silly. He's a damn smart player. Does all the little things and is a really underrated scorer.

not knowing what they signed him for how can you say that?

Personally I thought he was a very good back up to the back ups, back up! :p

Seriously though, the pecking order is Howard, MoT, Spoon and then Padgent.

If you are going to have a guy that is fourth out of 4 power forwards then you at least want him to have one thing he does well and Padget does a couple of things very well. He is a very good outside shooter and he passes the ball fairly well. On a team that is still lacking in outside shooters I think Padget is a very good player to have at the end of your bench.

No team can carry 4 PFs. If we resign Padgett, it must mean we are moving someone else.

That's the first thing I thought about. Is Howard on his way out? It's September 1 so he can get moved at any time now.

I'm glad we resigned Padgett. The guy provided energy off an already depleted bench. While he had some off nights, not a lot of players can have consistency when they don't play a lot, especially with JVG's rotation.

Besides that, Padgett is another white guy w/ decent size that can stretch out the defense. Happy with the resigning, not a big deal, but happy with it.

i like padgett. Rebounds, hustles and can stroke the 3. Can play SF PF and some C. Good signing. But i don't know what to make of 5 years, $14 million. Are you being serious banqui because i don't sense any sarcasm in the post. No smiley smilies or anything so i take it as you are.

5 years seams a lot, but the 14 million for 5 seems ok i guess. Would that mean 1million first year, 2mil second, 3rd year 3mil, etc? that would be 1+2+3+4+5=15million.

I think that is a good re-sign. We need a good PF to rest Howard and MoT at critical times during the game.
