I am concerned that Rockets Management is tarnishing our rep. We have a recent rep of leaving alot of players with bad tastes in their mouth Cat - Took less to be here. .. TRADED Francis - thought he was family . . .TRADED KT - TRADED Posey - Not resigned EG - Cut Cato - Traded and not Jim Jackson. . . . who i think took some pay cut to be here the JVG Rockets are a RUTHLESS Organization no promises made MEAN ANYTHING . . . . Rockets use to be known as a Player friendly Class organization now I don't feel it is the same. Rocket River
Get over it. Its business, and Rudy also traded a lot of players. JJ was not taking a paycut. We were the only one willing to extend a 3-year offer.
Dude, come on. How do you really know if anybody was promised anything or not? It's all speculation. Don't pass judgement unless you know something we don't. Also, does it need to be stated again that the NBA is a business ? Business is business, i'm sure all players you mentioned are still managing to fall asleep at night.
I understand it was business and stuff but if he was traded as a throw in to get rid of Boki i would be peeved lol.....that's if all the speculations are true.
I love the Rockets more than the next guy, but we cant feel bad for them if we want to TRY to put the best team we can out on the court every night...
Do you honestly think this is the best team we could have put out there starting the season and looking at it now?
Organization Rep is why the clippers are the clippers and the hawks are the hawks I DO NO WANT THE ROCKETS to become like them Rocket River
Then why the hell did T-Mac want to end up here? I know it's through trade, but he could of chose any other team to go to.
Well, you have to admit they lived up to their promise to MoT. Play here for 1 year and then we'll give you a nice contract extension. Of course in hindsight, we'd trade him now for a bag of stale potatoe chips now, if we could find a suitor.
none of those guys were owed a thing or guaranteed something that didn't get delivered. i mean your list is just guys who got traded, who cares? if you're trying to prove your point with these guys then you might as well say the same thing about every single team in the league. cat - took a smaller deal but played almost the entire contract here. steve- got the freaking max from us, he'll be alright i think. kt - got traded, that's it posey- took more money then what we were willing to offer. so what? he's fine. eg - cut. yeah right that's the end of that story huh? remember the whole shooting at his girlfriend thing. cato- why on earth would he have a problem? the rockets gave him a fatter contract then he could ever have imagined. he'll be fine too. jackson might have personally gotten a raw deal by going to the worst team in the league but it's a business and this was a standard NBA trade. you think some free agent is gonna look at the rockets at say, "hmm, i don't know if i want to go there, they make trades, oooh." i think some people look too much into this stuff.
What matters most is our rep in terms of the all mighty dollar. Regardless of what you think of them and their contributions, Shandon Anderson and Mo Taylor took less money to come here as quality FAs and ended up getting WELL PAID after their short 2 year deals were up. People took note of that as well. It ended up HURTING our team for the long run with this contracts, but they got paid. Everyone knows trades are part of the business.
I remember that Mario Elie said some pretty bad things about Rockets management when he was traded, too. And remember, some trades were badly botched - the Damon Stoudamire to Houston trade was handled about as badly as humanly possible, after it did not work out, the players who would have been traded were all royally pissed off.
T-Mac wants to play with Yao. Besides the fact we have two great pieces to build a championship team around, Houston is not a very attractive team for free agents.
RE: the Soudamire trade. The botching was ALL on the Toronto side. Their GM leaked the trade to drive up the value. The Rockets have been VERY GOOD about keeping trades quiet. Remember in the Tmac trade ALL the info was coming from the Orlando side, not the Rockets. Players that get traded always say bad things. It happens.
surely for players the rep will come from two things, money and the chance to win (of course a new stadium and facilities will help) ..... assuming Les comes to the table then it depends on if players think a TMac and Yao tandem can lead the right squad to a title
