Houston thank you to all the fans. **** is crazy. #RedNation
— Patrick Beverley (@patbev21) July 4, 2015

I am very happy for Patrick. The man worked his ass off and totally earned every single penny. Glad he is still a Rocket while getting paid his first good contract. Also, props to him for not demanding crazy money or following crazy $$ with other teams. You can tell he wants to be a Rocket. Have to appreciate that. Lastly..... Thank you Pat for signing a very trade friendly contract!!!! God Bless.
First, I love that Bev is back. We still need another PG, but I will always love Bev. Now, does today prove that truly no one ever knows what's going on in Morey's office? It was reported just earlier today that the Rockets weren't even pursuing their own FAs, and then both Brew and Bev agree to contracts.
Right on. So how much money is left? Just the MLE? And we still have Smooth and McDaniels left + playmaking guard. Need a Bime update.
'oh it's sooooo quiet' everyone says then BAM in your face - solid deals dropping left and right. i smell a big trade down the road. maybe all we're doing is showing LMA you're going to either have to bEat us or j0iN us
Based on what you probably make, sure. Based on the kind of money being thrown around out there this off-season and teams interested in him, absolutely not. Rondo is getting paid $10M next season for basically being a BUM for the last couple of seasons. If Beverley had waited, IMO Knicks would have paid him well....an offer that Rockets might not have matched.

Pat Beverley's deal with Houston, I'm told: $ 18 million over 3 with a 5 million non guaranteed year in year 4.
— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) July 3, 2015
FYI, if Amick's number's are correct, Bev's contract is even better than we first thought; it's actually a declining contract, much like Ariza's. Using the numbers of $18M guaranteed over the first 3 years, and a $5M last year team option, here's what the contract will look like over the next 4 years: 2015-2016: $6.5M (9.5% of $69M cap) 2016-2017: $6.01M (6.75% of $89M cap) 2017-2018: $5.525M (5.1% of $108M cap) 2018-2019: $5.0375M (Non-guaranteed, impossible to say due to likely CBA renegotiation in 2017) As long as Beverley stays healthy, this will look like an amazing steal. Daryl might really think about an extension for Motiejunas as well if at all possible...
At least, the FO is not waiting on LMA to spurn us. We learned from last year's Bosh non-deal, and are making our moves now. While maintaining flexiility to do a SnT for LMA should he so choose us (or so I think).
Two things: 1. This deal at $25 Million mean Beverley has no real value on the open market where no team bothered to offered in anything especially considering how bloated this offseason has been where role players are getting max deals. Sure fans here are like "great value" but deep down we all know Beverley is not a true starting PG. 2. Since Llull is not happening and Harden was very clear he wants a better PG (not Beverley) alongside him next season, what are the Rockets option now?
I can't even believe how good of a deal this is with the ballooning cap. I love Bev and the tenacity he brings. Still hope we're able to bring in a starter so that Bev can play that full 94 feet game he is best suited for. That's impossible to do logging the minutes he logged last season.
