http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/4600250.html Beginning with a Rafer Alston turnover that saw him benched less than four minutes into the game, Alston shouted at Juwan Howard. Howard shouted at Alston. Alston then began shouting at Jeff Van Gundy, before Mutombo began barking at McGrady, with McGrady going back at Mutombo and trainer Keith Jones rushing between them, if only to interrupt long enough to get something else accomplished with the time out Van Gundy had called. "I heard guys yelling at each other," McGrady said. "I was just trying to calm guys down. Dikembe was trying to stop me from calming everything down. I don't know what happened. But it was a bad time to go at each other's throats."
I definitely think that once we start rolling again and start racking up wins, the heat between the players will diffuse. Wins make everyone happy. And when Yao comes back, that'll help too. As soft-spoken Yao is, he has a very commanding and calming presence in the locker room.
Don't be during games people shout against each other all the time. It doesn't mean that they do not get along, or that they don't have chemistry on the floor.
wow. you could tell something wasnt right watching the game. mcgrady and the ref going at it seemed really out of character for tmac. i dont blame him for being frustrated but cmon tmac KEEP IT COOL its a good thing yao is gonna be back next game. hopefully it'll be a chemistry booster and everyone will forget about all this sillyness.
It happens. It doesn't mean there is no chemistry, but when you're not playing well, it brings out the worst. I'm sure they still get along, and T-Mac isn't like have a previous Kobe personality on the bench. I think they'll be fine, the Rockets always seemed like the team with good chemistry. Especially when Yao gets back and things start to roll a little more, it'll be OK. The team has finally run out of steam without Yao, and it's beginning to show. The good news? Yao's coming back next game. Pretty good if you ask me, that we kept it up this long. The team has to take a deep breath and don't let this loss sidetrack them from being a good team or their chemistry.
I noticed ne exchange between crybaby Tim Duncan crying to referee- the Ref Said something to Mac when he was at the line to shoot a free throw and Mac said something back to the referee- Duncan initiated it. there was a lot of tension. I did notice Duncan crying to the referees with impunity-no techs.
I think tmac was frustrated that the ref wasn't doing his job and taking his time giving him the ball so he could shoot his final free throw, cause I dunno if anyone noticed it took a long time for the ball to get to him, and tmac threw the ball back to pretty much say do your job and give me the ball when i'm shooting free throws. But yeah the team is running on fumes at the moment, the rockets desperately need someone to help take some of the offensive slack. Don't count on yao being our saviour right away, remember he hasn't played for quite some time and the team isn't very use to Tmac and Yao being in the lineup at the same time, so give it 5 games and then the rockets will be rolling to the playoffs
Heat of the moment stuff. Happens to all teams, and not neccesarily bad. This team has too many nice guys so perhaps they let each other's mistakes go too often with only the coach yelling at guys. They will sort it all out during film session or something. It was clear Rockets were not on the same page og the game plan.
Well, it shows that they care. They need to keep their heads into the game better, stop taking pull-up threes early in the shot clock (Rafer), quit turning the ball over with silly passes (Head), and NEVER pass the ball to Deke unless he is wide open AND looking for the pass, (TMac). I remember last season when Yao came back from toe surgery (I think), he came back and dominated. Hopefully he can do the same soon.
I'm glad they're barking at each other. We need some type of f-ing fire! No intensity out there at all. At least they're quarrelling which means they're frustrated. So now there's two different routes. Keep quarrelling, b****ing and complaining about each other, or grow stronger as a unit now, filter out the bottlenecks and procede to the championship. With MVP returning Monday, still nowhere near ready, atleast his presence should bring some sort of confidence back within the organization. Each time someone argues with another it sort of forms a tighter bond between the two later in most aspects, unless you are just plain, ignorant, immature little punks. Let's go Rockets!!!!!
this doesn't bother me at all. We are in a bit of a rut right now. Our team really cares about winning, so a few guys flew off the handle. No big deal. I'd bet right now that we get it together for tomarrow night's game, regardless of wether Yao is back or not.
the year before last wen we played the mavs, i remember dirk was sayn **** abt dampier etc., and that brought out the best in him and others
Care about what? It was detrimental to the team. Any doubt? Alston is childish. After the first ball fell, he kept jacking up shots without even trying a pass, like a kid indulging in a vedio game. I think Alston cares, he cares about himself.
no biggie. you guys never shouted at your friends out of frustration? better that they let it out, and laugh about it later.
