This is related to the prior rumors of moving up to get Washington's 18th, since Jonathan Givony of Draftexpress has basically called that rumor completely unsubstantiable and without base.

I'm one of the few that actually would like us trading 25 for 31 and 34, if that's all there is to the deal. I think Morey can find diamonds in the rough and will only increase his chance at hitting on them given more opportunities.

But it sure would be nice to PUNK San Antonio if Batum was available at 25.

    What do you think?

We don't need more young players added to our roster.

Courtney Lee should be available at 25. If he's not, I wouldn't mind drafting Jordan as a backup to Mutombo/Yao.

Bill Walker and James Gist are both guys I'd love to have in the 2nd round though.

That the Rockets have a few different scenarios planned. If the right players aren't there at # 25, they will trade down rather than reach.

I'd honestly rather trade down. There's noone at the end of the first round that's going to really help us. Might as well draft two projects that we can stash somewhere.

There's a chance a player that the Rockets would want at 25 will drop to 31 anyway.

CDR or Lee Might still be on the board at 31, so that may not me to bad.

We would probably trade down for Richard Hendrix, since he's a prospect the Rockets are high on.

If we do trade down, I'm hoping we get a future 1st from that team. If its two 2nd then I consider the trade pointless and not worth it. I just hope we won't have another draft day rage like the last couple of years. That seems to be a trend for the Rockets now and days.

Trading down can get us away from a 3 year gauranteed contract. I think trading down could give us 2 opportunities to hit or get some projects going with small costs.

If they can get a "Landry" plus another center to stash away it would make sense.

Um, didn't you read? We won't trade down if Lee is still on board, we'll just take him right then and there at 25. If he's gone, then we'll TRADE down.

This morning someone signed up to this site with the moniker "Koorie Rocket" down where it says "Welcome to our newest member..."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koorie

Maybe that's an omen the Rockets are going to take Nathan Jawai with either the #31 or #34?

Jamont Gordon and Nathan Jawai in the early second round would be sweet.

If the Rockets trade down to get both #31 and #34, then they would obviously take at least one top European prospect. Remember, many of the top Euros (except for Gallinari and Batum) plan on signing bigger deals to play overseas for a couple/few years and have told NBA teams NOT to draft them late in the first round. The #31 pick might be even more valuable than the #25 pick (or at least the #28 or #29 pick) in that the Rockets would be able to lock up the rights to a player who could be a major factor in a few years without having to pay that player a penny in the meantime.

I'm guessing that the Rockets would take at least one of the following players with picks #31 and #34: Ante Tomic, Serge Ibaka, Nikola Pekovic or Omer Asik. Most draft experts have said that those four players have mid- to late first round talent. We know that Morey went over to Europe during the year to scout Tomic.

Imagine being able to get the rights to a couple of players who could develop into another Luis Scola in a few years. Not too shabby.

The only reason I'd enjoy getting 31 and 34 is for the opportunity to screw Portland at 33 and 36.

(then again, they have 13 and 27 ... I'm going to go cry now)

Exactly, if anything the Rockets should do any and everything to move up.
