In that thread, we will talk about the Rockets playoff race. The key game like tonight s game, Denver vs Utah, we will also talk about the important games that they should win. The effect of some trades on the playoffs race like the Shaq one and etc. Here s the current standings: http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html
Damn look how tight that race is in the west. Anything could happen at this point. We just need to take advantage of the relatively easy schedule right now.
Damn this thread is a little early don't you think? We haven't even reached the All Star Break yet. I can see this thread getting to over 700+ pages.
Lakers lost! And the Rockets will pick up a half game on 2 more Western squads tonight with Utah playing Denver and New Orleans playing Phoenix.
1. I think that that thread is necessiary because it avoids to make other threads about us making playoffs. 2. Lakers lost!!!! yess. They are now 31-17 3. Hope that Portland lose also against Chicago and the Utah-Denver game is a key. Hope that Denver lose that but if Utah lose, I wont be sad. 4 Bad news, SA won.
have to sweep this home stretch. 1) we must establish home court dominance 2) we want to go into the ASB with momentum 3) we will make up a lot of ground if we sweep this 4 game stretch. the top seeds are up for grabs guys.
Here is our remaining schedule: (Feb) Cleveland, Atlanta, Portland, Sacramento, @Cleveland, Miami, @New Orleans, Chicago, Washington, Memphis.....We need to win at least 8 of these games in February. (Mar) Denver, Indiana, @Dallas, New Orleans, New Jersey, @Atlanta, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Boston, @New Orleans, @G.S, @Phoenix, Sacramento, Minnesota, @San Antonio.....The schedule gets a bit tougher in March. Its depends how were playing, but assuming that we get it together id say that 9 to 10 wins would be realistic judging from our history of playing these teams. (April) @Sacramento, @Portland, @Seattle, @L.A.C, Seattle, Phoenix, @Denver, @Utah, L.A.C.....6 of our last 9 games in the regular season are on the road, but many are definately winnable. This may or may not be the deciding factor in whether we make the playoffs or not. Either way we need to win 6 or 7 of these, not just for the record but to gain momentem entering the playoffs (if we do). From my predictions we would end up 51-31. That is if we beat ALL the teams we should. Its really hard to make an accurate prediction because you just don't know obviously. But we would have to play very well to reach this record. Not at all impossible, but definately would be challenging. Say we play some crap games against the crap teams and lose, which is very possible, id say 46-49 wins. It all depends if the Rockets want it or not. My prediction was based of us playing well for the rest of the season. So give or take games you think we will lose/win. (if I did any math errors sorry)
chicago @ portland portland may loose this one hopefully the chicago bulls will come and play tonigh but it will be tough
for me to take them seriously, they need to win a lot of the games v. the good teams too. even if we beat all the teams we should and end up at 51-31, we're not going to be a threat anyways.
But it doesn't really matter if we are a "threat" or not. We just need to make the playoffs and play well.
Disagree. Great idea actually. Its gonna be a PITA to sort through but it will keep the clutter down.
we will go 11-4 in this stretch here with the addition of whatever we get on the trade market plus the great play of landry and scola
