Hopefully It looks like the Clippers have traded for Andre Miller and all they had to give up was Darius Miles. Now Miles is a good prospect but come on now. Anyway my last count of the West looks like this: 1. Lakers 2. Kings 3. Mavs 4. Spurs 5. T'Blazers 6. T'Wolves 7. Clippers 8. Utah 9. Memphis 10. Rockets 11. Seattle 12. Phoenix 13. Golden St. 14. Denver PS I am not putting the Rockets above my Grizzlies EVER so you get the picture. Anyways, all bets are off if Ming is really NBA ready. I just want 2 tickets in the Lebron James sweepstakes. Don't know if I want to draft him but just like you Rockets fans know, teams were offering up a stupid amount of talent for the #1. For Lebron who (like Ming) will do wonders for your Marketing but will also put butts in the seats his worth is going to be through the roof. Good luck this off season Rocket Fans!
http://msn.espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0729/1411544.html Damn, the Clips just got alot better in my opinion. For those of you to lazy to use the link, tomorrow morning the deal will be finalized with Andre Miller and Bryant Stith going to the Clips in exchange for Darius Miles and Harold Jamison. Now the only question is will the Clips sign Miller long term since he is the last year of his contract, and isn't this Elton Brand's last year as well? Remember Sterling is one of the biggest tightwads in the NBA so it would be surprising to see him pay on e of those guys the max, let alone both of them. MemphisX, there is no way in hell the Grizz are better than the Rockets next year.
At the end of the 2002-2003 season four of the Clippers top players will be free agents: Lamar Odom, Elton Brand, Andre Miller and Corey Magette. What will Sterling do, he'll be lucky to sign 1 or 2 of these guys.
if your putting the grizz in front of the rockets you better go to a grizz forum. cause here i think everyone knows that rockets can beat the grizz anyday of the week. how would we end up 10th? utah is not going to make the playoff's next year and the grizz won't either. the rockets have to much depth into their roster right now. all the talent is here in houston, let's just hope we don't get the injury bug.
HAHAHAH the grizzlies ahead of the rockets. The Cavs could've gotten way more for Andre, like Wilcox or Ely but I guess they're trying to get Lebron.
I don't understand how you can be that much of a Grizzlover, they've only been there for a year, and they sucked.
Has someone lost there mind? Grizz over Rocks this forum has gone crazy!!!i can't believe somebody said that!!! Grizz over Rocks yeah, and CATO is worth what he's gettin paid.
The only way the Grizzlies could beat the Rockets would be if Jason Williams inexplicably went crazy (hehe like that's ever gonna happen)... Oh wait. It did. Flukey, flukey, just like Dukey...Memphis lost to a Francis-less Rocket team...and their horrible season wasn't because of injuries...I'll give credit when the Grizz grow up and get good.
Utah, Portland and the T'Wolves in my mind are going to probably slip a little bit. Probably the Wolves and Utah. The wolves lost one of their better back ups when Billups left, and Utah is one injury away from being knocked out. Portland will probably keep it together for one of the last spots, so the Clippers and Rockets can move on up. 1. Kings (They were a few bad calls away from being the champs) 2. Lakers (They will win even if they arent the at the top) 3. Mavs (If they get Lewis, they might be tied for second) 4. Spurs (Not good enough for the top 3, not bad enough to drop out of the top 5) 5. Clippers (This team will not be this high next year when they have to pay for their players) 6. T'Blazers (Blew up vs the Lakers, will never recover) 7. Rockets (If Ming is better than 10/10/3 we will move up) 8. 'Wolves (losing one of their best back ups when their starter missed half the season...not good) 9. Utah 10. Memphis 11. Seattle (8th spot with Lewis) 12. Phoenix 13. Golden St. 14. Denver
Like I said in the other thread, I'll respect the Grizz when they all mature and the team becomes good.
The Clips will definitely win more games now but at least I'm not concerned about the head-to-head matchup: Miles used to pose a big matchup problem for us and McInnis used to eat up our PG defense anyways.
We will make the playoffs if you do, although I think we will both fall short. We will see once the season starts. I will be fun.
Hope you stick round till the end of the season when our Rockets are ballin in the p-off's and the grizzlies are sitting around watching them. Really hope you're on the scene, MemphisX.
The Rockets at full strength are better then the Clippers. They have Miller we have Francis. They have Maggette we have Mobley. They have Brand we have Griffin. They have Kandi, we have Ming. They have Odom And Richardson we have Nachbar and Rice and Mo. We have a superior coaching staff, just as much depth, and just as much talent. Why are people so scared of the Clippers? They're a fine team, but the Rockets at full-strength is just as good.
Ok I am a homer but man come on. The Clippers have more talent than the Rockets. Coaching ok but talent. It would be Odom, Q, Wilcox, Ely, Piatowski, and Dooling vs. Rice, Mo, Nachbar and Moochie. Franchise is the truth, Griffin is a comer and Mobely can flat out score the ball but Rice and Mo are suspect at best. Ming is a question mark because NOBODY knows what to expect. Your talent level is more on the Phoenix level IMO. I am pretty objective about every team except my Grizz. Unless Ming contributes from day 1, Houston is in the same bag as Seattle, Phoeinix, and Memphis .
