One of the geniuses of Moreyball/ the moneyball philosophy is finding value where others may miss it. One piece of evidence to support Morey's success at doing this is the number of players who have had their career highs in points this year:

James Harden 45 points vs atlanta 11/02/12
Omer Asik 19 points vs miami 11/12/12

In addition, the career high in points of both Parsons and Smith shows that our rookies/ young players have a lot of potential growth.

Chandler Parsons 31 points vs New york 11/23/12
Greg Smith 21 points vs LAL 12/04/12

Not to mention that Omer Asik and James Harden are both averaging nearly 8 points above their career averages (Parsons averaging nearly 6 PPG more than last year), and Asik and Parsons are both most improved player candidates. The future for the rockets seems bright, and for this, we have Morey's genius to thank.

Do you think it has something to do with the amount of minutes they are playing?

+1 for 'no thanks' to the MIP kiss of death.

Some of it has to do with minutes, but you can also look at PT independent stats like FT %'s which seem to have drastically improved for both Hammer and Bang (movie title?). I'm sure their shooting %'s increased as well. "Seem" and "I'm sure" = I'm too lazy to look up and compare stats. Takers?
