According to the above Wang Meng's article, it seemed it will be short of a Rockets players reunion in China this summer......

At least 6 players will be there in China during the summer:-

    • Yao Ming, of course
    • Tracy McGrady on his annual Addidas Asia tour to promote his TMAC shoes
    • Shane Battier as stipulated on his Peak endorsement contract
    • Chuck Hayes as stipulated on his Li Ning endorsement contract
    • Deke Mutombo as he planned to take his family to revisit China again
    • Last but not least, Luther Head for the Basketball Without Borders Asia camp to be held in Shanghai July 5 ~ 8.

As reported in the Wang Meng's article, Luther Head was very much interested and wanted to have a chance to visit China. So during the training camp in October, he asked Yao Ming whether he could go to China with him during the summer.

Yao Ming just noted down his request, and when NBA Basketball Without Borders organizing committee consulted Yao Ming's opinion about this year's Asian Camp, Yao Ming recommended Luther Head to be an instructor/coach for the camp. The organizing committee then placed Luther Head the invitation.

Luther Head of course gleefully accepted the invitation.

Looks like it will be another busy summer for me to report all the Rockets players activities in China !!!

They still think we have Mike James.

No reason to alienate our Chinese fans overseas...

Li Ning, not Ye Li.....

Li Ning, the one to the far left of the above photo, was the Prince of Gymnastics of China back in the 80s, and currently owns and runs the biggest sports shoes/gears chain in China and internationally. He has signed Damon Jones, Shaquille O'Neal and Chuck Hayes all within the past 18 months. Sbyang was suggesting that might be Luther Head can get an endorsement contract from Li Ning, riding on the coattail of Big Yao !!!

    One undeniable truth:

If you are with the Rockets team and you are popular or being like by Chinese Fans. There is a high possibility that you will be signed by a sport gear company in China.

    e.g. Chuck, Shane.

PS: in my opinion, Li Ning shoes suck

Yeah..... it sucks so much that the Spanish men basketball team wear Li Ning apparels/shoes to win the 2006 World Championship, and both the men and women basketball national teams of Argentina had signed up Li Ning shoes/apparels for the next 6 years...........

Fixed it for you. :p Thought this is the best situation to use this emoticon. :D

Okay, seriously, I guess chances of Yao going back to China this summer is quite low. First, his playoff season ends in June this year :D, in addition to the celebration events, he could probably stay in Houston until late June then join CNT teammates in early July. Then there comes the Summer League plus Europe trips. I just don't see him getting any timeoff.

I agree, Li Ning basketball shoes sucks, Peak shoes are the best. I tried both Li Ning and Peak back in China.

    Li Ning,

I remember watching the guy in the Olympics...

I think he was the first or one of the first to do a pommel horse routine during his floor routine...
