Shaq was quoted today as saying that he is really, really hurting and that he will have to go back on Anti-Inflammatory medicine so he can even KEEP PLAYING. Let's pray that the Lakers put Shaq on IL or something so we can make up some ground and get ahead of them, hopefully that is. I don't like to wish injury on anyone, but this really is a problem for Shaq and the Lakers. Phil Jackson even suggested reducing Shaq's minutes considerably until his big toe and foot gets better. Someone go to LA, meet him at a 7-11, ask him for an autograph and step on his foot.

Just make sure you got the correct foot...

And if you step on the wrong foot, drop everything and run.

We haven't actually fallen behind the Lakers. We lead them by a game.

I can understand that. Who'd have thunk Allan Houston would drop 50+ points on the Lakers for the win?

In any case, bumping off the Lakers isn't our only hope. I'm hoping to overtake Phoenix in the standings and it wouldn't be impossible (if improbable) to pass Utah.

All the same, I understand what you are saying about Shaq's injury. He is their whole team.

Well, they are 3-10 when Shaq is out, so that speaks loudly of Kobe's current status as a GREAT player! Superstar I can understand, but great not even close yet, because you actually have to lead a team to something to be a great player, which Shaq does for the Lakers. Meanwhile, Kobe is a great addition to any team with an already strong core that is one good player away from contending for a championship. This year, I really like the Spurs to take it all, I don't know what people might think is the best team in this league, but no team is more consistant and is a perfect mix of veterans and young talents like the Spurs.

It's come to this point on how much the Rockets suck and how we think we can't get a seed higher than 8....

We're only 2.5 games from the 7th seed. Have some faith here...
