I think the role that J.R. Smith plays for denver would be perfect for the Rockets! Him as a sixth man would definitely be productive for us. Then we would have that potent scorer that can create his own shots. He is a restricted free agent and we should be able to afford him. :D

Actually, I think Denver might even let him go. He's been a headcase and thorn in their side for a while. he just recently cracked the rotation, not because of lack of talent, but because he was in Karl's doghouse.

He's a great talent, has GREAT range, and can hop out of the building. He's exactly what the Rockets need...talent-wise.

Unfortunately, with Adelman's laid back style, Smith might not be a good idea. No one to discilpline him.

Smith would be good for the rockets, but would wreak havok on our chemistry...say no to JR smith and send battier + Landry for Josh Smith

...yes i know atlanta won't do that, but hey i like the man's game

    J R Smith has a second spelling to his name...it's G-A-R-B-A-G-E.

Gerald Green was a similar type player to Smith, and that didn't last long.

Please God and Daryl Morey, do not let the Rockets sign J.R. Smith.

Gerald Green could not shoot period.

J.R. Smith can score and create his own shot.

I'm not saying we should sign him but he is alot better than Green thats for sure.

    Smith >>>> Green all day

I'd take Smith over Luther Head all day too... and I'd take Smith over Bobby Jackson... and I'd take Smith over Novak too...

    so there... get him

I've been thinking this for a while. I'm sure he's on Morey's list for sign and trade deals using his expirings.

You could compare him and Gerald Green as far as attitudes go but JR has much more talent, especially at the things we need most.

    JR Smith > Luther head

Only if he were cheap AND we didn't lose any pieces would I even THINK about doing this signing.

But to be devil's advocate on behalf of his sake, Adelman coached Artest AND Bonzi together. What makes you think he can't be disciplined enough to run RA's game?

    现在的火箭不需要任何人,只求健康的姚麦外加对比赛不要消极的麦迪.09冠军属于火箭!

Good point on the Artest and Bonzi Kings. I completely overlooked that.

I don't think it would be out of the question that denver would give up Smith for a Luther Head based package.

I think that's how much Denver doesn't like him. His talent is what keeps him in games, and that's saying a lot considering his off-the-court issues.

JR Smith can't be SnT'd because he already has a 2008-09 contract. It's Qualifying Offer starting at $2.3m.

If YOU regard Smith so highly, what are you putting on the table that DEN wants?

I don't think you and the other Discliples of $Ball have a thing to worry about.

We need to sing somebody like JR, somebody who can come off the bench and score even 30 on a given night. We need a consistent scorer off the bench.

Oh, i was under the impression he was a free agent. I was thinking we could use some expirings on him but if there is no SnT then it isn't likely we get him.

He is one of those crazy talented bad attitude guys you can get for cheap like Bonzi, Jackson, and Artest. He is very talented any way you look at it.

Smith is the biggest chucker in the NBA. Not saying he is not good.

When he is on, he lights it up, when off, he keeps shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting.

JR Smith will not become a rocket, EVER.

i'd trade Landry, Brooks, Head, and our 26th pick next year for Artest and his team mate Kevin Miller...

And you are right. One night he can make 8 3s and he can be on fire but next time he can be ice cold but you can be sure he will keep shooting.

I also don't like that. Sometimes he is too selfish and he thinks he's the God of Basketball.
