While I don't like to see Rockets lose, don't worry too much for Rockets' consecutive bad results. The teams Rockets lost to are good teams, most of them better. I just hope Rockets renew their spirits in the remaining games. Actually they only need 2 more wins to secure a at least 8th position (which is likely to face Wolves, not bad at all ). If Rockets can play well, they should reach the target in the next 2 games visiting Warriors and Clippers.
2 wins! Enough! Denver might come out with a same record as Utah, and sit at #8. Houston will be #7. But, to make it secured, we'd better grab 3 wins. According to the schedule, we may win 4 out of the last 6 games.
Here are the rest of the schedules of 4 teams: HOUSTON, DENVER, UTAH, PORTLAND HOUSTON: Golden State, LA Clippers, Denver, Utah, Seatle, Dallas DENVER: Phoenix, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio UTAH: Memphis, Dallas, Houston, Minnessota, Phoenix PORTLAND: LA Lakers, Golden State, San Antonio, Denver, San Antonio, LA Lakers And my prediction would be: Houston 4-2 (46-36) - 7th Denver 1-4 (41-41) - 8th Utah 1-4 (41-41) - 8th Portland 2-4 (41-41) - 8th I don't know (care) who would make the 8th seat
Expect them to split these two games. They've already lost to Denver so my guess would be a loss to Utah which would simply drive a number of folks here to drink.
What are the odds of the rockets losing 10 games in a row (including the 4 they already lost). Even extremely crappy teams rarely do that. I think we are a step above 'extremely crappy.'
The one thing I've come to expect from this team is the unexpected... I don't know...our defense the past couple of games has been extremely crappy, as well as late game execution. The Rockets might be a step above extremely crappy, but it's a really small step...
I was surprised that fans are still so optimistic regardless our terrible perfomance recently. We are out if we win 2 out 6 while Utah and Denver go 3-2 The next 6 games are really key to determine our play-off fate. If we continue playing with no heart, turn over 20 times per game, I am afraid we will be out. Jazz won last night and has 5 games left, if they won 3 out 5 and also Denver won 3 out of their last 5 games, we will be dropped out with 2 wins out of next 6 games (which I highly think it is possible or even worse). yes, I know their schedules are tough, but do you remember at the end of last season how Sun saved themselves by beating both spurs and lakers?
Your math is a little off, qian. If the Rockets go 2-4 and the Jazz and Nuggets each go 3-2, the Rockets would still make the playoffs with 44 wins. The Rockets will probably have to go 1-5 or 0-6 to miss the playoffs. I do like your negative attitude, though. There has been WAY too much optimism around here recently.
check my posts in the "magic number" thread, I've said for the last 4 games the Rockets need 2 wins to lock a playoff spot. I'm still saying 2 wins... I think I will go crazy if they lose the next 2 road games. This is the season in my book, if they don't win at least one of these next 2----- expect the worst. This team is playing at a level now that could leave them 0-10 to finish the season. That would equal the Oilers 2nd half collapse against Buffalo in the playoffs(NFL). Worst of times to be a Rocket fan if that happens.
Yes, you are right. Mr. A-Train. Gosh, we are lucky and we only need to win 2 more games. you made my morning. I am much relieved. You know, I tried to be positive, but it's really tough watching the team losing several games on the national TV. I am in Miami area and every time it's like a holiday whenever rockets has a game on national TV. I drove back home very late saturday's night so that I can watch Sunday’s game, but once again, Roxs bailed me out. There is no better chance to beat the King like yesterday, they are falling apart recently, we lost 3 in a row and we need a win badly to get into playoff, we are at home, and Yao came to practice early this morning. then damn.... BTW, at least my home team Heat is really giving my love recently. We only have about one star player odom, but we have played very well recently. It is really a fun watching the fast-break play by the heat and also their great team chemistry, which I rarely saw from the Rockets.
Preach it, my brotha! I was gonna say, after your post in which you say "it wouldn't surprise me if the Rockets close out 0-6" etc etc, that that's the A-Train I know. I just hope you're wrong this time. Every time you predict failure for the Rockets it comes true. No more A-Train self-fulfilling prophecies!
Our schedule is certainly easier than the other teams' but we haven't played very well lately. On any given night we could lose to any of the 6 teams and losing has a way of building on itself. We seem to be scoring fine. We have to get our defense back.
