Since 51 won't be showing the game Thursday, I'm going to watch it at BJ¡¯s Restaurant & Brewery located at 515 W. Bay Area Blvd. It's not too far off of 45 South in the Clear Lake area. They have Chicago style pizza, and a ton of other good food options, not to mention the brewery. They have a ton of tv's and a huge tv that will most likely be showing the Rockets game.

If you have any other questions I'll check on this thread after I get home from work. I think BJ's will be a great place to watch a game. I'll make reservations tonight depending on how many reply back in this thread saying they are interested.

B: Did you catch the announcement that the Rockets are going to have a viewing party at Sidelines Sports Lounge, 2016 Main? Clutch (the Bear) and the Power Dancers are to be in attendence.

For some reason I can't find this announcement on rockets.com but there was a promotion for it during the game last night by Bill and Calvin.

No, I didn't notice this. I guess I wasn't paying attention during the game. I don't want to detract people from going to that, so only if you aren't interested in going there, but would still like to get together elsewhere, then I still would like to present BJ's. I went to a few of the viewing parties last year, and no offense to the drummers, but I really couldn't stand them in a small setting such as a viewing party.

huh? okay... ch51 won't be showing it, but it is on tnt... right? or is it blacked out? so houston area'ers won't be able to watch? it's been a while since i've lived in houston, so i've forgotten what goes on in these cases.

It's on TNT. I think last time it was accidentally blacked out for the first 20 or so minutes, but this time it shouldn't be a problem, especially considering it is a road game.

Anyone who goes to the official viewing party, let me know what you thought of Big Bang. I personally can't stand them in a small room, but maybe they'll keep the volume under control instead of playing like they are at the stadium like they did at Jillian's last year.

Actually if a game is Nationally televised the home team's City has exclusve viewing rights for the area.

For Instance, tomorrow's game will be blacked out on TNT for the Dallas area. The local company that nomally broadcast Mav's games will still broadcast the game(NoBlackout).

There is no blackout for tomorrow's game on TNT in Houston.
So KNWS and TNT will televise the game.

If the game were being played in Houston, no TNT broadcast only KNWS.

That's not true at all. 51 is not carrying ANY of the nationally televised games. Road OR home.

KNWS (Channel 51 I presume) said on the game last night there next broadcast is on Friday, not Thursday. Even the Rockets website shows there is no local TV tomorrow.

    OK!

Q-What channel was the game on last night?

    A-NBATV & KNWS

Q-What channel was blacked out in Houston?

    A-NBATV

Q-What channel was the game not blacked out in Houston.

    A-KNWS

This has been the case for at least 4 years.

    Look at:
    http://www.nba.com/rockets/schedule/

The only time 51 is blacked out is when either ABC or TNT is televising the Rockets.

If you are interested in watching the game at BJ's Restraunt and Brewery tomorrow night, please respond since I plan on making reservations for a group tonight. It should be a lot of fun, the food is really good there and the Rockets will be on the big screen.

I made reservations at BJ's for 10+ tomorrow at 6:15 and the party name is Rockets. I called to make sure they will be playing the game on the huge tv set, and the answer was a resounding yes. I was able to get a small group from work and friends, but if I get a few from the board I'll call and bump the number up.

What's the minimum age at the Rockets viewing party thing? I'm assuming it's not 21. (being a bar an all, maybe it is)

I might be down assuming I can get in. Only 19 here. (Yes, I know I can't drink ;))
